Apostrophes are easy really. Use them to signify missing letters or to show possession of something/someone. ....AND the only time to use one with [iits[/i most common mis-use is when [iit's[/i actually the abbreviation of [iit[/i [iis[/i.

3- buderus
Burrow was great running from dummy half but his passing quality, and his choice when faced with a few options, was dreadful

| Just for G1
1. Buderus
2. Kirke
3. Bailey
I bet Kirke made double figures with his number of drives today, much better stuff from him, much more aggressive. Thought that Sinfield was very ordinary with ball in hand, but he's the man when it comes to pressure kicks.

And it was brave, brave, brave Sir Kevin who's half break created the broken filed for Danny Mags to exploit setting up position for the winning kick.

| that was the first time he'd done soemthing like that all day too. Maybe because he has been so "sensationally inventive" over the last few years, I've got used to this from him, and for the most part today he was poor with the ball throwing some terrible passes.
That said, if my life depended on someone making a kick, there is only one person I would choose to handle a kick under pressure.

| It was Buderus who forced the error that gave us the field position to score. Similar to Peacock against the pies last season when he rushed Tomkins ? into a knock on when trying to kick. I would struggle to come up with 3 top performers, we were mediocre at best.

Though he was fantastic ball in hand. Took us all around the park.
You probably reacting to a couple of loose passes. People should watch how many awful passes Chase gave in that match that led to turnovers if they so covet him.
Anyway,
1. Peacock
2. Sinfield
3. Bailey
Honorable mention for Buderus. Kirke was much better in terms of work rate and quality of work.

| Top three:
1.) Peacock - Excellent work made some real metres and at crucial times. Best game I have seen him have since coming back from injury.
2.) Buderus - Looked v dangerous in first stint running out of dummy half and defensive effort was as reliable as ever.
3.) Bailey - Form continues to improve. Some real hard running and even gave a great if ineffective scamper back for their try.
Other notes of interest:
Webb = V poor. 3 forward passes though one was quetionable. Some bad options. Didnt appear on the fringes as 3rd man in from the wing at all like he has been doing so well last few weeks. Did everything right on the Chase try apart from fogot to tackle him.
BJB = V good but vastly underused. Hes so dangerous when has some space to run into so get the ball to him ffs. Great under high ball.
Watkins - See above. Get the ball to him. 2 of the most dangerous players in our team and two of the most x factor players in the league and they have barely had a touch. Sort it out McDermott.
Sinfield - Poor for 70 mins. Took bad options at lot of the time with the ball. Kept coming back inside when he should have got it out to the above. But stood up when it mattered and his kicks under pressure are amazing.
Burrow - Dangerous scampering out of dummy half, everything else dire. Some dreadful pass options and executions. Kicking game as woeful as ever.
Thought the players gave their all, cant fault commitment or the defence but this really was a poor pefromance against an average side. Obviously delighted we won but really glossed over some ponderous and dreadfully strucuted attack, highlighted by the fact Hall BJB and Watkins barely had a sniff all afternoon even with plenty of field position. Far too conservative against a team whose defence has looked seriously suspect for the past 3 months. Played into their hands. Presume this came from the coach and we got out of jail and if we had lost the game plan would have been our downfall imo.

Webb got pulled for a try-scoring pass to Jones-Buchanan (unlucky would be putting it mildly) and a 'Tom Brady' effort to Delaney.
Not sure where the third came from unless you can enlighten me? I may have nodded off and missed it waiting for Leeds to put Cas out of their misery.
__________
1) Jones-Bishop - continues to strongly suggest the decision to loan him out for 2010 and re-sign Donald was a crazy option and to think it needed Donald to walk away for this season also.
2) Buderus - Just quality. Leeds' best and most enthusiastic defender. If Leeds release him for 2012 (without an adequate top class replacement can be found and I doubt that it can) they'll regret it.
3) Burrow - McShane who? Not all quality but for an 80 minute effort he's difficult to look past.
Plenty of others I thought did well also. Watkins was a threat and gave a couple of instict passes to his winger creating space out wide. Peacock and Jones-Buchanan were their usual selves and Bailey continued his search for a new deal.

| Maybe Jones Bishop is playing like this because of thye experience he gained at Harlequins last year, away from the spotlight?
I'll say this, as well as BJB is coming on, he should have finished that break and beaten McGoldrick on the outside. Donald would've been under the sticks.

Yes he should have feigned to come inside then burned him on the outside.
In a similar vein where was Ryan Hall when the ball was shipped out to Ablett who stepped in touch, can't help but feel that had Hall been in his regular spot he'd have scored.

I thought Burrow was constantly asking questions of the line and a constant threat. Bailey took some great drives in and Sir Kevin needs no explanation nerves of steel.

I said exactly this at the game! I couldn't understand that one!
Watkins - is looking very good. His defence looks solid and he is running very strong.
Bailey - looked solid in defence
Buderus - consistantly the first tackler for a kick-chase
Sinfield was instrumental - constantly keeping everyone in check. His positional kicks weren't the best today.
Webb looked like he couldn't care less half the time. Some (not all) very lazy kick returns, letting the ball bounce past him, and his attempt to tackle Chase was awful.

Webb knew that Chase's support was covered by Leeds defenders (he correctly told them !) but he still bought Chase's dummy, no idea why.

Are you sure that Youngquest (I think) was covered?
Did you see that one of the first defenders on the scene after Chase scored was Bailey?
Fantastic effort by the big fellow.
The least said about the defence (in this instance ) of Clarkson & Sinfield the better.
Noticeable that Clarkson was subbed immediately.
My view was that he shouldn't have been on he looked knackered - no surprise in that heat.
However, Chase's try was excellent, one that I'd have been thrilled to applaud had it been scored by us.
I did clap it at the ground, a try worthy to win any game, what a shame it didn't - no I really mean that.

It's a question and one no-one can really answer with any certainty but what appears almost beyond question is that Donald was re-contracted by Leeds for the 2011 season which could have further impeded the development/exposure at 1st grade level with Leeds of one of Jones-Bishop and/or Watkins, possibly even both to a degree.

Thought Webb did another in the 2nd half Im probably wrong. Look at my user name I dont like slagging Webb off just didnt think he was at the races. He has set up loads of tries the last few weeks by being 3rd man in and he just didnt do that yesterday. Also whats a Tom Brady pass? A five yard dump off? And Delaney is no Wes Welker

He'd have had to be super human to be there having just been tackled on the other wing after supporting the initial break
But yeah it was a shame as you'd have put your money on him to finish from where Ablett was.

| OF I think yer being harsh on Clarkson for the Chase try.
Watching the replay from behind the sticks Watkins and Bjb are numbered up fine with Youngquest and Dixon?
Sinfield didn't have to drift because there was no real threat other than a 1 on 1 he should of made with Chase this is why Clarky was caught out and failed to drift and fill in because imo he knew we were numbered up fine.
Agree El B re-Webb.

| Not sure why Webb is getting some stick here. The chase try apart (reminded me a little of the Offiah wonder try where Tait gave him the outside and Offiah took it and skinned him) he appeared well positioned for the kicks, taking many of them on the full, and ran them back with real determination and at pace.
A certain amount of criticism appears to being levelled for it's own sake unless someone wants to point to specific incidents beyond the one NFL pass.

| If Webb's 'NFL' pass was isolated I'd agree, but it's a weekly occurrence now. He seems to pass the ball forward every other pass. For me it's just frustration that's built up over the season.
As for Clarkson, he was shattered and missed the tackle because he'd worked damn hard up to that point. Plus Chase can make the best defenders look foolish sometimes. Apart from that 1 break though Cas never worried me.
Anyway,
3. Bailey - aggression in attack and defence. Best form of his career at present
2. BJB - so elusive. He never looks like he's moving but his speed is deceptive.
MoM. Buderus - probing runs all game kept breaking down the Cas line. His big game experience came out and looked every part the former world class player.

Exactly the point I was making too.
My criticism was aimed at the coach rather than Clarkson though he (& Sinny) missed the tackle.
As I recall Peter Sterling (& countless others no doubt) saying once in commentary, the most dangerous guy in rugby is the one with the ball.

Also thought Sinfield, Buderus and Delaney deserved mentions in despatches. Webb was solid enough I thought, not sensational, but not worth a load of stick either. Probably guilty largely of under-estimating Chase's foot speed on the try. I didn't realise he had the pace to do a non-Wellens full back on the outside either.
Couldn't single out many who had a poor game individually, mostly we just lacked structure and cohesion in attack.
