Without McGuire & Buderus our problem in the semi will be that the opposition (whoever) will now have fewer of our playmakers to close down. So Burrow and Sinfield will be targeted to stop Leeds functioning. Will need another big effort from the forwards to give these two the space they will need.

Because he is exactly the kind of big reputation, exotic, Aussie superstar scrum half the majority fo our fans would crave and he is a perfect example of why it wouldn't work.

Burrow doesn't seem to instill the kind of drooling, sycophantic admiration from fans in the same way the error-prone gyrating turnstile does, yet he'd be a far more worthy recipient of any MoS award for his defensive capabilities alone.

However if we signed a top notch Australian scrum half who then got a season ending injury (ie Orford) then that becomes a good reason to claim that he is an over-rated waste of money?

The only thing that i can clear up is that I agree with the first sentence and therefore fail to understand the relevance of the second.

Name me a top notch imported scrum half that has come over here and been a hige success, leading his team to trophies.

Recent big name number 7s Orford and Sherwin have really torn up the house.

To be fair, if it wasn't for injury Orford would have been very very good for the Bulls. He put in some cracking performances in his limited appearances.

Sherwin is painfully average.

Take Matty Smith as an example. On Friday his performance was lauded by all and sundry. I don't think Smith from the performances I have seen of him this season, played any different to his normal games, which IMO have always been good. The major difference he had though, was quality players all around him. Therefore what he did had a much higher chance of success than what he was getting at Salford.

No, it's what every team is trying to do. Do you seriously believe that a player at Wakefield, Cas, Salford, for example come over here because they believe they will be winners?



Success individually should be measured by performance individually. Therefore if a scumhalf comes over here and puts in top notch performances consistently, surely that is a success. Just because he might happen to player for a team with poor players around him, does not make him a waste.

This is a team game, not an individual.

So name one then.
