| After a dodgy start he wasnt too bad . he missed a few Saints forward passes. Missed the knock on just prior to Wilkins kick out on the full . I also thought that when Hall offloaded as he was going in touch there was an offside from sts that he missed. Hall passed the ball back one saint touche it in flight and another pushed it backwards from an offside position should have been a pen to leeds. He also penalised keith for 'jumping' (since when was that an offence- one that we have been penalised twice for this year) and the high tackle call agaisnt rob was harsh. Some of those are down to human error some down to his own weird rule making. Most of the game I didnt notice him though which is exactly as it should be.

| No doubt about it that ganson is best ref in super league.
He was always going to be fair because he wouldn't risk missing out on another Leeds v saints final.
I thought he had pretty good game to be honest.

The Senior decision was spot on. He also missed a blatant flop on Webb late in the first half (and missed a similar one Sky bleated about where Leeds were the offenders later on).
However, I'm sure he missed a few offences against Saints too rather than your one sided list.
Overall I thought he did well.

It was a blatant, stupid attempt to slow the PTB which resulted in a penalty that Saints 100% didn't want to conceed.
You sin bin a player when he deliberately gives away a penalty rather than allow a PTB and probably conceed a try. There was no special circumstances behind that situation apart from it was close to our line. It was never a binnable offence and no one with any sense would call it that.

What offence do you think Senior committed?
IMO he was challenging for the ball and jumped for the ball. He was then barged off the ball by a Saints player (Gidley?).
Ganson then gave a penalty against Senior for barging.
It was a bull5hit decision.

He obstructed the player by jumping way too early with no intention to challenge for the ball.

Rubbish! Cunningham was behind Leuluai when he went to play the ball. He came round in front of him (from an offside position) and deliberately knocked the ball out of his hand to stop him playing the ball, which could well have led to a Leeds try. Professional foul + sin bin - no different in principle to the Wildcats sinbinning for stopping Leeds taking a quick 22 metre tap. Deliberate ploy by Cunningham to give away 2 rather than 6 points.

Ganson didn't give the penalty for jumping too early. And that's obviously not an offence anyway.

Senior jumped for the ball. We don't know whether he'd jumped too early or not because Gidley barged him out of the way before he had a chance to catch it.
It was a bull5hit penalty. Your explanation of the penalty is bull5hit.

That's a pretty impotent response John.
He deliberately jumped way too early with no intention of going for the ball. He'd landed before it got there.

Please answer these simple questions:
1) Did Ganson give the penalty for barging, and name Senior as the offender?
2) Did Keith barge into anyone?
3) Was Keith barged into by a Saints player?

I really don't get the fuss about Webb's challenge. It only looks bad in slow motion.
In real time Webb simply comes in to clean Gardener out exactly as you'd expect a fullback to in that situation. Gardener is already being tackled and therefore Webb has to get low and slide into it...the end result is the contact with the knees but the clear intent is nothing malicious it's simply an attempt to put the player over the whitewash.

Webb wouldn't have got anything in days gone by.
The penalty was only given against him because of the VR.
In the old days it would have been ruled as a simple knock on while attempting to score.
Looking at this tonight, I think even the penalty was a harsh punishment of Webb, although I can understand it being given. The reason there was impact with his knees was because Gardner dived ridiculously early in trying to score. He's dived early to score, the fact that he came into contact with Webb's knees was just the price he should've paid for an attempted try.

| My only qualms last night were he was too quick to blow for Rob Burrow (of all people!) for a high shot on 5 foot 10 inch Sean Long. Clearly hit his shoulder first. Did anyone out of interest purchase a radio? What was he saying whilst waiting for the kick at this incident "Speak up Phil, I cant hear you!" Was the VR telling him he had made a blooper?
Next, Last week Pryce went in with the knees on a Wigan player - no action. Last night Webb was penalised. Consistency please!
Perhaps a word in Grahams ear when he lost it on 79 and a half minutes might have been a good idea. As for not letting us have a final play of the ball - I agreed with that one. It had almost boiled over thanks to the ginger ones antics and I believe Ganson felt that one more play might have exploded if JP or JJB had gone down the line to the ginger one.

Yeah, but that was their intial guess when the penalty was given.
That's because it was a bull5hit penalty that no one had a clue what it was for, until Ganson made a barging motion and named Senior for it. Then Ganson said it was a penalty for blocking.
Then the BBC had a look at the replay and Davies concluded it was very harsh on Keith.

| TBF I thought it was given for offside in the ground because it looked to come off Senior from my angle.
I said after the 1st replay that it was a penalty too for knees in by Webb. Never a sending off but certainly it warranted a penalty.
Also someone mentioned an offside by Saints when Hall passed the ball back inside when he was being forced into touch. Thats the only decision in real time that I brought up.
Its all good having seen the replays to say he got this and that wrong but in a split second of game time it can be difficult.
I thought he was superb yesterday.

I don't know anything about a Saints offside for that because the BBC didn't show it, but IMO we deserved to lose possession from that because of Keith's stupid offload.
On a similar vein, I don't think Gardner did actually knock on when Gidley threw the terrible ball to him from acting HB.

Gansons signal was a forward pass. Forget what the coms make up
I agree it was silly play by Senior in the 1st place that put pressure on Hall but had his pass not have been touched in flight it may have found a Leeds player.
Anyway, im not even that bothered. It didnt really effect the game and I only brought it up as I saw it in the ground and it wqas the only thing that I saw him miss.... which isnt bad at all really.
