On the Saints game I reckon it'll lose Leeds and Saints somewhere in the region of £140,000 each
Say a crowd of £15,000 at an average price of £15.
Add in the corporate side.
'" What are you on about? The money Leeds vs Saints will lose because of the free tickets? If so, how does the corporate side come into it.
Why do you think an all paying crowd for a televised 4th round challenge cup tie will draw 15,000 punters?
Quote
Do you think the RL will do it again next season.
'" I hope so. At last the BBC will be able to show an early round tie at a packed stadium with a good atmosphere and a noisy crowd. It will do the game's image no end of good.

That's why I averaged the price out at £15.
The majority of tickets would sell at above that price.
I think both clubs will be expressing their dissatisfaction, particularly the one who loses.
From a Wigan p.o.v. we have 10,000 season ticket holders, Barrow has a capacity of between 6,500 and 7,700 (dependent on who you believe).
How will that work?

The Leeds v Wigan Cup crowds for the last two seasons were around 12,000.
I would expect that the "two best clubs in Superleague" could better that.
And as I said the £15 average ticket was way on the low side for Headingley.
It is a big loss in revenue, do you agree?

Would you like to revise your fag packet calculations?
I appreciate Saints are a much better team than Wigan but they don't have the same support do they?

It wasn't the right centre at Warrington, it was the other right or left as I sometimes call it.
Without Keith Senior Leeds have an issue both sides.

Leeds and Saints have actually had pretty similar opening games so comparsons are quite valid.
Warrington - Leeds were away and Saints at home. Leeds were never behind, and played with a patched up team after a very high intensity game at the weekend. saints had to overcome a significant defecit to win with a mostly full strength squad
Hull KR - Leeds were away, Saints at home. What I would call a professional performance from leeds. Didn't play well, but were the better team, and ground out a win. Saints led more than once, but couldn't close the game out
Crusaders -Saints away, leeds home. Leeds finished the game off inside 20 mins, then eased off the gas for the next 60. Saints struggled to make an impact, and would have been a lot less comfortable in the later stages than we were.

There's never a problem when you win.
Even when the dominant side lost. It happens sometimes but I wouldn't expect it to happen that often when you're defending a line 80 yards long.
Quote ="leicester_rhino"Leeds and Saints have actually had pretty similar opening games so comparsons are quite valid.'"
And in the other game Leeds had Wakefield at home while St Helens had Huddersfield away. Two hard games against teams coming off excellent away wins who will be around the eight if they can maintain their early season promise.
If the game was this weekend Leeds by 12.
