I get the group representative bit, but I've never really understood the idea that you should automatically support every player, simply because he's playing for the National team.

Now if last Fridays game had been Yorkshire vs Lancashire, booing would have been acceptable, as Baby Ratboy is a Lancastrian

However, I would imagine even then fans from Warrington or Saints would have joined in the booing, safe in the knowledge that Yorkshire folk would take the blame

Technically speaking, he wouldn't play in a Roses Origin match on account he wasnt born in either county. Which if my sources are correct he was born down south somewhere and the family moved up here to Chorley at some point.

Incidently, I was speaking to Josh Charnley last week and I asked what reception he got at Hull KR. He said when they were reading the Wigan team names out they booed Sam Tomkins but gave Josh a big cheer. Was it due to the fact that a herd of us Rhinos made the special effort to go over there to boo him??? Think not somehow....

Yes he does have talent but it is time he realised that he needs to grow up and play the game in a sportsman like manner and stop conning refs and looking like he is having an epileptic fit when he is tackled. Or is it perhaps that he has got his d1ck in a worm hole and he is enjoying it - I dont know.... Either way he needs to grow up!

I don't get this attitude from fans.

He's a professional sportsman, doing what it takes to help his side win.

If Ryan Bailey (I'm using him as an example, classic Bailey) niggles on the floor and wins his side a penalty it's evidence of his value to the side, but if Sam Tomkins does it then it's conning the referee and being unsportsmanlike?

I would suggest it's not Tomkins that needs to grow up.

I've heard the RFL are re-considering playing England RL games at Elland Road during the 4 Nations due to the behaviour of Leeds fans booing Ratkins last week.

i was stood in the southstand on friday night and in my usual spot.
i was however surrounded by fans that all wore different coloured team jerseys although old cedric was still next to me.
now cedric often gets confused due to his age, but he did say to me,

i cant get my head round the fact that on a normal rhinos game night that fans from other clubs are not only standing in big eric's and fred's places in there but that they are also shouted abuse at the home players,big eric and fred would never do that!

surely even the daftest wigan fan can get the gist of this can they not?

When it was pointed out to them that if people slag tomkin the pies say that is because other fans are jealous? so what does it mean when they do the same to Leeds? the thread got deleted shortly after!

I was in the SouthStand on Friday and seemed to be surrounded by Bulls fans, who were taking great pleasure in singing "we all hate Leeds scum". I can see the irony they were revelling in and accepted it in the jovial manner it was (probably) intended. Whilst there I also spoke to a few Cas fans, Giants, Wakey, Hull. Many of us, including myself, enjoyed the booooing to begin with, but tired of it quickly. The persistence of those who continued it for much of the game is to be admired.
I paid to attend the game and it was a pretty dire affair all in and after a few beers anything to raise the boredom became entertaining. Therefore I booed, I apologise to Jamie, Leon, Scott and anyone else I caused to raise comment.
I respect every player who takes the field and plays with integrity and earns it. Sam is supremely talented, but his actions annoy the sh/t out of me at times.

Dont feel too bad about it, those professional players got paid a decent wedge for 80 mins work, there are lots of unemployed actors who would give their right arm to be boo'ed twice daily in a 3 month pantomime job.

I hate booing. I don't even like it when we boo the opposition when they come out - I'd much prefer them to run out on to the pitch in silence. However, the abuse he gave Hall when he realised he should've passed and his general poor performance throughout the game could probably condone some anger against him.

He needs to think to himself why people might have booed him when playing for his country. In contrast, Joel Tomkins was very good, fully deserved his try.

Try doing what we do - applaud both teams.
