Great signing. Though the phrase "subject to agreeing personal terms" takes on a different meaning where Ferres is involved. Hope he hasn't been offered Kath.

Quite some pack we will have next season with very good strength in depth.

Regardless of the situation how Ferres became available, this is a great signing. I'd say BR needed a quality signing with how injury prone Delaney, achurch, JJB, Ward are and how average Walters is.

I trust BM and GH on their judgement regarding off field issues. Can't wait for next Season to start!

Must admit to having some doubts about this one initially, but lets face it, he's committed no crime. As long as the players and staff are comfortable with it, that's all that matters. Purely from a playing point of view, it's a brilliant signing.

Rhinos clearly have some quality players but I think Delaney, JJB and Ablett are not quite the forces they used to be and Ferris's addition will a) give the team a quality starting backrower b) extend the other players time at Leeds as they are not being smashed every week.

You could see how good he was even when he was at Wakefield and very much under used. I'm glad he's made it to England standard.
His off field issue is a very specific thing that shouldn't affect a new club at all.

An odd comment to make given Ferres had an affair with the wife with his 'best mate' since childhood and the bloke who was best man at his wedding. Given this, I doubt Ferres will pay much regard to knowing Carl Ablett since he was a teenager and who he once went to Australia with.
I suspect Craig Huby though he "knew Brett" - but clearly he is not as he makes out.
It will make Huddersfield v Leeds interesting next season though. What's the chances Brett is "injured" the first time that fixture comes around?

But that's just the problem isn't it. By it's very nature an affair is built on lies, dishonesty, disloyalty and deception. Nobody knows what else about that person is built on the same principles. He may well have been having it away with other people - just because he has been exposed (excuse the pun) once, doesn't mean he will suddenly confess to any other immoral activities he has been getting up to (again, excuse the pun).

It also doesn't mean he has been "up to" anything else. Perfectly decent people can do a stupid thing, it doesn't alter their personality.
I agree Leeds or anyone signing him have to be careful and have to be diligent in checking his personality. But Leeds do that pretty well with everyone they sign, they ensure (as much as is possible) that a signing is going to fit in with the group.

So if Leeds are happy with him then I'm happy with us signing him.

IIRC, years ago Neil James took Leeds RL to court because they wouldn't play him in the first team and wouldn't release him from his contract, he lost the case on both counts. Just because you are contracted doesn't mean you are guaranteed to play.

Fantastic signing. He's a brilliant rugby league player and that is all that matters. As far as I'm concerned, as a Rhinos fan, until he does something that effects either his own performance or the teams performance ON THE FIELD, he deserves to wear the blue and amber
