| I am surprised that no one is expecting us to make at least one signing in the forwards. We have lost 3 forwards (One on loan) and only brought in one with experience (who I expect to be used at loose forward). Although I do think Delaney will move to prop. Might as well say thanks now to Bailey, Kirke and BJB your efforts were appreciated.

| The forwards headache will be a moderate one compared to when we'll have to wholesale replace the pivots in McGuire, Burrow and Sinfield.

| I reckon we need a half before we need a prop (although both would be ideal). Names already mentioned plus (if we're really stretched) JJB should give us decent front row coverage & enable us to keep JP fresh for the games that matter

| Leeds have been refused permission to speak to Ryan Brierley. They have turned a transfer fee down. Safe to say Ryan is not happy at all with it.

Where have you got that from?
I had heard he has rejected a new contract but don't know how long he has left on his current deal?

| If he is refusing to sign an exstenson and only got 2 more years left then can see him coming eventually after a little dance. I can see why Leigh want him to stay, they have built a decent squad to challenge to get up and don't want it breaking up

| How is it Wigan can add Larne Patrick to their squad? He would have been an ideal addition to our squad.
On Brierley - a big fish in a small pond, potentially a one season wonder. It does however point the finger at youth development at Leeds, it hasn't produced a half back of note for over 12 years!!
Perhaps the removal of Bailey and Kirke was prompted by the exodus of young players from Leeds? Players can see a way into the first team under a coach who appears fixated with players >30 years old. To have two props who are nearer 40 than 30 says much about the coaching/recruitment ideals of this club.

How many games can we expect from JJB, he's become injury prone again (just like early in his career). Kylie will struggle this year - he wasn't that great last season. As for JP we'll have to wait and see, realistically he should be on the decline. For the Rhinos sake let's hope its a steady one because if he goes downhill quickly we are in the mire big time. A good signing must be urgently made, the young back ups are no where near the class required.

About 18 months ago. That ship has sailed.
The fringe players might get shown the door, but it will be left to the likes of Burrow, Sinfield, McGuire, Peacock, JJB and Leuluai to decide when they've had enough.
The tail is being allowed to wag the dog, thanks to a weak CEO too attached to his players.

Good job he still had it for the semi and the final - his captain failed to turn up for either!!
However I do agree with you his best days - pre the Wigan injury - are well behind him. There is only so long you can let sentiment rule logic and it not impact the team. All three of them are in decline some faster than others!!

| If our interest persists in Brierley I cannot see how we won't get him. Leigh won't want to keep a unhappy player I'm sure.

| So we're linked with Luke Burgess, Lee Mossop and Ryan Brierley - If we get all three then whhhhooaa!
Burgess and Mossop would be great signings if both stay fit. Solid comes to mind. Which is all you need from a prop in Super League these days. After all have Wigan, Saints & Wire got any props that have the wow factor? Nope. Just grafters and we would be level if not ahead of those with JP having the wow factor about him for a year at least.
Brierley - Worth a punt but I wouldn't have high expectations. He very much reminds me of Greg McNally who we were linked with when he sprung to the scene. The new kid on the block he was, ended up signing for Hudds and was set to set super league alight.......Yeaaa thats as far as it went.

Based on last year's performances I would say the captain was the weakest. Whilst McGuire was not great he did have a few high spots, Sinfield was just not great all season - I think the WC semi really knocked his confidence.
It will be interesting to see if he still has the mo-jo with a proper off season?

| Are Scott Taylor and Richie Myler still available(if they ever were)? I'd be happy with either or both. Nothing seemed to happen with Taylor to Hudds or Myler to Hull KR.
