This is what I'd do.

If you put either Golding or Walker on the wing you still have the same issues you have with Briscoe. Both are short, and would struggle bringing the ball back. At least they have some pace though

Golding offers very little in attack..it doesn't look natural in his game to me. And I've said it before Keinhorst is not a top class centre . we must recruit there if moon stays at stand off

we need a general at half back. an organiser. myler or moon are not the answer.

Myler is a support player, and Moon is a runner. If they are the pairing at halfback next year, who organises the team?

my thoughts too. for me keinhorst is a squad player. move moon back and either give lilley a run of games or sign an experienced leader/organising half back.

Agree on keinhorst,he's ok as a squad player but not a first choice. Todays game would of been walker at fb for me,semi finals should be picked on form and walkers has been well good enough to of kept his place

had walker been on the bench, we could have taken Briscoe off (again) and moved Golding to the Wing

and that's what should happen IMHO dump Briscoe and give Walker a 1st team spot alternating him and Goulding at FB/Winger until one secures the place on merit.
But you can be assured Briscoe will be penned in for all Top 8 games even when we lose because BMcD wont be told and wont accept he is wrong

Walkers now signed for 3yrs... so guessing Golding will be playing wing on Friday?!?
A difficult situation as Golding will potentially feel shunted out and let down after improving all year, playing with heart and giving it his all for us... BUT Walker is/will be the better player and fullback.
I've loved Golding's focus and defensive effort level, but he has offered SO little in attack throughout the year that the bigger, TEAM picture has to take priority.

Interesting re BM's comments at the end of that piece talk about players sharing a commitment about what they can do for the club and not the other way round. Possibly suggests that young Walker has had a bit of a reality check?

It doesn't mean much in terms of Golding. The position's the same, its up to him to earn a spot. If Walker ousts him at fullback then he needs to get another spot. He will if he's good enough.

Yes good news this. Hopefully put that nonsense behind and let him earn the full back shirt off golding, which over three years is more than achievable.
I too think Golding could make a good winger (if he put some size on) as his defence is good and he's good under the high ball. Just needs to work on his attack and returning the ball.
Between them they could cover full back and wing one day.
