| In fact he was that good, that the Australian centre that the brought in was moved to the forwards to accommodate him.
He wasn't good enough to get in any of the dream teams though.

It seems an even more respected coach and former prop has a different take on it. A cynic might argue that Barrie's struggling to develop players of the requisite quality.

Your right, the development stops. Shame though that it is a different former prop stumping that development.
Anyway the point was more about non rotation than whom came in.

| Peacock to me looks like a man who has decided this is going to be his final tilt at the windmill and wants to get as much out of it as possible.

With the greatest respect to Barrie, when it comes to spells on the field, he was never quite the same type of athlete Peacock is!

| With respect to the likes of Watkins moving to the NRL, please be aware that ATM a lot of noise is being produced by the media in relation to SL stars, under the assumption that any player approached by an NRL side would automatically want to move, and be allowed to do so by their club at no cost to the NRL side, regardless of how long they have on their contract.
The fact that some players might not want to move to Australia, or clubs may insist on compensation if a player wants to leave before the end of their contract are completely beyond the comprehension of many an Aussie journalist.

Did you actually watch Friday night? With all due respect you are not in a position to comment on what was put.
Peacock started off great, but by the 23rd minute, and especially in that 17 minutes before half time, he was an embarrassment. A player of his standing and ability shouldn't be made to look like that. Never in his career, including last year, has he ever looked that knackered.

| I didn't see Friday but I can confidently opine that your description of Peacock as an embarrassment is probably a massive over exaggeration.

Dear Mr Negative,
My point was fairly general though wasn't it? So it stands.

He was knackered, but he wasn't anywhere near as bad as you're making out!
Kirke, on the other hand, was not up to speed and seemed to miss a number of tackels - not sure if he is carrying a knock as after his first stint he went straight down the tunnel.

Wouldn't have thought so. Whilst he had a league ban, it's been served and I don't think he had any criminal convictions, did he?
He's an idiot, but that's usually regarded as a positive in Australia.

Supposedly getting mony for two players going out , including one who they don't need and is currently on loan. Then signing a payer who is OOC and can start in June who could potentially be a good player. Seems a good deal to me.

| Powell is probably a bit of a risk for Wigan, given that he won't be cheap and has never played the game before. But, he's a big, powerful ball carrier and a decent athlete for his size. So it is a risk that could pay off.
Past his prime, obviously, or he wouldn't be leaving RU now. But not so far past his best to be seen as past it, and who knows what a new challenge might do for him. He isn't that old.

To make sure he's a hit Harris will sort his contact development out:
"There is grappling and wrestling to adapt to but it shouldn't take me long to pick that up," said Powell. "Iestyn is going to help me out quite a bit."

He should give Leon Pryce a call, he loves a good grapple.

There's always a home for you at Wigan.
