Given that some fans are bemoaning our style of play the failure of the 2 hooker system to run smoothly and the countless talk of unrest behind the scenes plus players and coaches departing i think it's a valid topic.
Now of course like every poster you have an opinion and that is fair enough but the topic seems to have sparked decent debate.

This seems a common theme at Headingley with "Player unrest" with the coaches, there is two ways to look at this, either the players at Headingley are given a "dont respect the boss" attitude that is maybye a culture at the club or we are simply employing the wrong sort of coaches

For me I think with most companys that operate in todays world there is a turnover of staff, now this can be for many reasons, want to aim higher, fresh challenge or unhappyness. You cant deny that rugby clubs go through the same

The reason i mentioned the rumours is because there are many different people i have spoke to hearing the same things ,of course we have the usual stuff when we are in poor form or lose a big game but these imo are very different and i hope they are'nt as bad as made out or at least if they are then i hope it's sorted asap.
Then we have Brian Mc returning to be a no2 when it's expected he will be the head honcho come 2012 which makes the recruitment/retention for next season and squad harmony even more important.

I would be hoping i wouldn't have to tbh mate like you and many have pointed out we've had a terrible year with injuries and the 3-in-a-row has caught up to us.
I think whatever the outcome i trust/hope GH has it sorted.

I see yer point mate in a business sense but surely if you are a 1st team coach of a sports team you don't want the CEO or Chairman telling you how we should play and what methods to use.

If I was Darth I would want to know exactly what Blueys plans for 2012 are now (not to say he doesn't already). You have to think if Bluey goes to an Aussie club will he look at trying to take some of the lads or staff with him? I'm not suggesting Bluey is the sort of bloke to do that but you have to remember some of the lads have said he puts passion into the team etc

For me already my expectations for 2011 are not majorly high as I do expect some of the "kids" to be drafted more into the side etc

As for Brian Mc, I do think it will be intresting to see how he settles into a "number 2" job rather than Head Coach....

If we have a look at GH track record of sacking coaches, Bluey shouldn't have to worry at all IMO

I voted for he should stay and see out his contract.

However I also see and respect TVOC's point in that if Mac is taking over the reigns in 2012 and isn't the kind of character to sit back and just 'observe' and help out on the training field then isn't Bluey a 'dead man walking anyway' especially if all the staff know who the boss is going to be in 2012?

Lets hope for the sake of the club getting back on track next year that Bluey and Mac can get a great working relationship going next season.

Put it this way,if next season starts as bad as this then how long into next season will it be before people on here are posting that its all down to a frosty relationship between our two 'head' coaches?

I'd say that of all the club chairmen in our game GH is the most "businesslike". He treats most aspects of the operation as a business so I see no real reason why he would treat the head coach any differently.

Just for clarity, I'm not advocating that GH tells BMC exactly how to coach the team, more gives him instruction that he wants to see more structure to the play, particularly with the ball.

I agree there is no point in McClennan hanging around....a bit like the lame duck president situation but constitutionally here he doesn't have to stay.

I guess they the club doesn't want to sack him, but the hint is there and if I was him I would be seeking another job in the employer secretly-hoping -despite-giving-token-support scenario.

Or maybe its complete bollacks emanating from the gossiping tap rooms of the borough who need an excuse for what they perceive as a failed season ?
