| The last pass to BJB was suspect but I suppose his hands went backwards so I'd give that on a Saturday afternoon. Also at the time I thought BJB may have been in touch/touch in-goal and to be fair the video doesn't really confirm it one way or the other.
Still, a good try against a poor defence. Personally I think McGuire's against Catalans in the '09 play-offs and Scott Donald's effort against Hull the year before were better.

The try was finished off well by McGuire who was, as usual, in the right place at the right time, but I think what made that try was Sinfield's pass to Donald. It was such a long, mesmerising throw of the ball.
The context it was scored in makes it pretty memorable as well. That try effectively won the game for us before half-time. Catalans came back strong to give us a scare but that 10 minute blitz before half-time was crucial.

| Seen a few.
One Leon scored a few years ago, about two minutes from time to give us the lead, was about as good as they get. As was one I think Ferres scored with not long to go.
And then we went crap...
One that -was it Vowles? - scored for Cas in the corner, just before the hooter in a CC quarter final or summat a few years ago, to win the game, sticks in my mind.
But I suspect you had tries by the home side in mind? Most of the best ones I recall of recent years had McGuire playing a key role somewhere, either finding a gap or putting the other guy into space. Going back a few years, most of the best ones seemed to come off a long pass from Harris, cutting out several of your players and finding the man out wide in space.

| Scott Donald against what seemed the whole Hull team a few years ago has to be up they. Mind you it might be just be poor defence, but don't let that get in the way of Scott Donald's ability to capitalise on it.

it was indeed, despite the forward passes but two spring to mind - 1) Thomas Bosc v Quins in 2009 where he chipped over the opposition twice to ground the ball under the posts - absolutely awesome and 2) Steve Bell v Wires at the Giral last year caught the ball in mid-air in the corner from a perfectly weighted Sherwin dink from midfield and in one movement did a forward roll and grounded whilst staying in touch - absolute class

Wasn't at the game, just watched it on the video. An excellent team try, but no matter how many times I watch I can not see how the try was given by the touch judge. It looks clearly in touch IMO, although not the best video quality, and would have been one of those that had a video ref been present it would have been needed to prove it was a try. In a normal league game without video technology, I doubt that try would have been given.

That try was from the restart too! If memory serves it was a Burgess drive, play the ball, Kirke drive with offload, Sinnie's sublime pass outwide, Donald's pace, forethought and awareness, and Mags usually fantastic support play.
My favourite thing about that try was in the camera shot of Mags touching down there's 5 (from memory) Rhinos shirts in the frame to the one Catalans shirt, and that's at time of him touching down. The support play from all was fantastic.

| He maguaire try v catalans in 09 play off was a favorite. I know it wasn't at headingley but scot donald in the 07? Grand final I thought that was a brilliant wingers try and the way he stood up wellens and made him look ordinary.

| Sailor v Cas in a Boxing Day game a few years back.
He looked like he couldn't catch a cold before that, then ran through their pack and outpaced their outside backs to go over at the Western end.

| Look up 'Leeds Rhinos 27 vs Catalans Dragons 20 1/2 ' on youknowwhere. Maguire's try is at about 5.32 onwards.
And it is blooming awesome.

| Can't remember the year, but Great Britain against New Zealand at Headingley (late 80s or early 90s I think).
Started with Des Drummond fielding a kick in the south west corner on his own try line and finished with a try in the north east corner of the ground, the ball going through at least half a dozen pairs of hands.

One of the best nights I've ever had on the South Stand
I remember Rivett scoring a try against Sheffield Eagles in a testiomonial match many moons ago where he sprinted down the North Stand touchline to the West Stand end, brilliant try

Good choice. It was Joe Lydon who finished it off IIRC and he went under the sticks. Hanley shrugged off about 4 players in the move as he went down the touchline. Superb stuff and prob the No 1 try I've seen at Headingley.
I think Hanley's semi final effort in '83 that Batley mentioned is up there along with Vainikolo in 2003. Paul Sterling scored a decent one in the WCC too in 97 IIRC.
