| Inglis has a long way to go to achieve what ET did.
Absolute class player. Glided across the pitch.
One of the few who could catch Offiah in full flight.

| A superb player. His tussles with Offiah 88-92 were superb, two world class players head to head.

| He is definately the best fullback I've seen play for Leeds (Before John Holmes gets mentioned, I started watching in 1984. By that time Holmes was an occasional Loose Forward.)
He was safe under the highball and, when fielding kicks, would attack from deep, pass to the centre who would pass to his winger then ET would appear on the wing to take the wingers pass to shoot down the touchline to score.

| Allegedly, hearsay, allegedly, I heard, allegedly through hearsay, that there may, allegedly, be some ET DNA in the gene pool in West Yorkshire, allegedly, I hasten to add this was hearsay and only my point of view and do not reflect the opinions of this site.
I do think that we should be looking closely at any fast, blond wingers that are currently playing in academies though.

Oh, and if we're voting for favourite Aussie my vote goes to Mark Glanville.

| ET Was awesome! His first stint at Headingley saw him at Full Back and he was a different class! Second stint saw him mainly on the wing due to Gary Spencer at FB!!!!???
ET made the game look effortless!! One of my favourite all-time Loiners!

The second stint only had him on the wing whilst he recovered from an injury.

Marc Glanville is a great call, that guy was held together by bandages and rubber bands but never took a backward step.
Rumour has it his knee drainage is now sold as a miracle cure for all movemenmt related injuries.

| ET was one of the most naturally gifted outside backs I've seen at Leeds. He had incredible pace and balance, and plucked the ball out of the air from a kick like no one else I've ever seen.
I remember one game on either Boxing Day or New Years Day at Headingley against HKR in which he put in the best fullback display I have seen to this day.
Tremendous player, the kind you could run out of superlatives for...

| Rubbish kicking game though, remember him bringing a kick back in a game against Widnes (might have been the last one of his first spell) and trying to chip over the onrushing chasers. Landed straight in the arms of Rick Thackray who strolled over under the posts IIRC.

Jon Bentley might not have been as fast but he certainly made up for it with violence whenever he did get near Offiah.

Except in the game where Deakin gets pilloried because Offiah scored ten.
IIRC when Deakin was taken off at half time Offiah had only scored four and at least a couple of those had come backing up in the middle of the field. In the second half when Bentley replaced Deakin, Offiah added a further six.

He also did that in the '88 Yorkshire Cup final against Cas and it led almost directly to a try by Miles Boothroyd(?)...
For all his other skills I am happy to let him off having a crap chip and chase...

No need for allegedly after it was determined by a court of law, IIRC.
