If you're talking about Hall, maybe because he's on a pretty good wage and doesn't particularly want or need to move on? Not everyone is motivated entirely by money (in which case he could have run to RU years ago) or that great sporting cliche, the 'new challenge'.

Nice to see him playing well for England, putting to lie the idea that he's past it - last year and this he has looked really good for England. For some strange reason Hall doesn't score as often for Leeds. Wonder why that is?

Hall and Watkins are the closest we have to 'star' players. If I was Hall and wanted to stay I'd still be looking for some commitments around team strengthening. Is it possible that Hall's decision to stay/not stay affected McDermott's position?

I read from GH's words that he's not that bothered in terms of retention, but Hall aside, of the list of uncontracted players the only one that would make a big difference would be Moon. With the others - Mullally, Delaney, JJB, Ablett and Walters - I can't imagine there's a queue of clubs lining up to sign them, so GH should be relaxed as Leeds probably have most of the negotiating power.

I'd retain Walters with the effect this year, but let Delaney, JJB, Ablett go. Moon appears to be home sick again so going to home (Wigan)!

When Walters came into the team he looked half decent. Good pace and ran really impressive lines. Then after the off season, it looked like they'd tried to bulk him up too much and turned him into a McDermott forward. Maybe he'll have a new lease of life under a new coach. And he'll work on his defence. Could become a good squad player

How anyone can argue with Mullally getting a new deal I don't know. He's paid very little and delivers much more than you could expect from a squad player - and you can't just fill the squad up with young players in the props.

1st of all HOW do you know exactly how much he is paid?
Secondly he's in the 1st 17 most weeks & 1 good game in 5 imo isn't good enough.
Finally "Squad fillers" should always be from the Acadamy imo & his money & place would be better off spent on the likes of Holroyd Dupree Darly Sutcliffe Trout etc..

There is only a few in the current squad who would give me a lift by signing new deals. That said, I've no real axe to grind with either Walters or Mullally doing so. We desperately need some quality right now and unless we get it most new deals will leave a sense of being underwhelmed, I suspect.

I'd say Walters would be more in that camp. Even if we don't have a ready Academy player, I'd bet there are a few Championship second rowers who'd do a better job and for the same money. I'd rather take a punt on one or two of them for a year than extend his contract, at times he's the most clueless player I've ever seen.
