You sound optimistic!. Wigan are due a good performance and we always seem to struggle vs their tactics.

maybe at their place and the Magic weekend. Headingley the last few years not really. We beat them far more comfortably than the scoreline suggests earlier in the year.

| I'd feel much more confident with Aiton and S Ward in the team. I think this will be our toughest test in the super 8s.

One thing I'm ALMOST certain of, Leeds won't be allowed to play tick and pass as they have done in the last few weeks. Wigan will get numbers into the tackle to slow the momentum down. Whether that'll be enough to get the job done again, I'm not sure. Leeds are playing a very entertaining brand of rugby at present, but it's up to Wigan to do that defensive job on them, just as they did at Newcastle.'"
Most Offloads by Leeds in a single league game this season
30 = Wigan (Magic)
27 = Wire (H Sicon_cool.gif, Hull (A)
25 = Wigan (A), Wire (H), Wakey (H), Widnes (H)

| I think Rogues might of meant quality offload rather than quantity?. With the way Wigan defend it might make it harder to get the good ones off.
At times vs saints and Wire we were throwing quality offloads seemingly at will, some were spectacular even with three or more defenders hanging on.

He speaks like he's expecting to play this week without actually confirming it.
He says we'll miss Aiton, JJB and Frog (Delaney) over the next few weeks so perhaps Delaney is going to miss more than just Friday.

| Just watched it now. It does sound like he's playing this week. Sad for Delaney though, hopefully it's more precaution than anything serious. We seem to be running out of SR's. from five to one atm.

Ha....you're probably right. I remember him pulling up...but then still hopping around and making an effective tackle before going off. Sums him up really I guess. JJB Mk2.
Looks like an extended run for Keinhorst in the 17.....anyone think he has been asked by the coach to stop the passes and fancy stuff; instead just run the ball in? It look that way !!!
Hopefully a straight Stevie Ward for Delaney swap on Friday; as well as the inevitable Burrow for Aiton no doubt, with Robbie Ward on the bench. Let's hope Leeds get a sufficient enough lead to give the latter a worthwhile extended run. Fingers crossed he turns out to be as successful in his own way as Handley was in given his opportunity.

Doubt he will get selected though: travesty if he does (unless he plays a blinder at Hull).
However, as we all sadly have recently been shown, nobody know who knows what further injuries might be sustained from now until this date.

| It'll be tough but again like most games this year IF we play to our potential we win it may be more of a grind but we still have enough fire-power to win imo but we'll need to be at it for the full 80.

Thing is it's not us who have to learn anything from past defeats to them on this occasion, it's Wigan. Like I pointed out previously, this isn't being played at the DW or Magic Weekend, it's at Headingley and when was the last time they put in a "Wigan performance" at our place? 2012? They've not being able to do what they've done to us at the DW/Magic at Headingley for a few years now.
Magic Weekend they conceded 4 penalties, at the DW 5 penalties so 9 in total in those two games. At Headingley earlier in the year it was 11 penalties. That's been a key reason behind them being unbeaten at home and having a poor away record....penalties and naturally being pinged more when you're the away team.
The question is can they stop us flowing in attack without giving away too many penalties AS THE AWAY SIDE.

The penalty count in the last two games was pretty even, and low. Are you saying Leeds need a big penalty count in their favour to win? In that first game at Headingley, Wigan dropped the ball twice straight from the kick off after they scored and indeed led the game. That gave Leeds easy field position and didn't allow Wigan to build pressure. As I said earlier, I'm looking forward to this game, it should be a good test and indication of where we both really are.
