Still quite important to some people.
Traditional to have a period of silence for recently deceased players...so what?
Tradition to shake hands after a game...so what?
To clap good play from the opposition....so what?
Traditionally, we haven't felt the need to segregate home and away supporters (sadly, a dying tradition)....so what?
I could go on, you get the point.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If people enjoy standing and can do so safely (and if those on lower incomes aren't priced out of the game with higher charges for seats), let them.

Winter rugby was traditional.
British RL teams in the M62 corridor was tradition.
Standing in football was tradition.

Not all traditions are worthwhile.

I know, but if sufficient people think standing is a tradition worth keeping then why stop them? It is a valid consideration along with safety, price etc.
P.S. given what has happened in the last few years, I suspect soccer as a sport and the majority of fans would like a few traditions back

As long as it is viable for us to keep the southstand all standing the better. Although i would not be averse to seeing corporate boxes built above the stand, similar to what then harlequins have would be nice.

Well thats my point, i wouldn't pay extra to begin with. And i dont know, ask the Leeds United fans im sure they will comment on that one

because we prefer to stand, we don't like sitting down-and have you ever tried singing MOT or 'we are leeds' sat down? you look like a complete burke.

The kop at ER was a terrace since ER was built, and if the stewards think in 15 years they can change 75 years of tradition they can f**k off.

You do realise that by buying your ticket you agree to abide by the owners terms and conditions ?

You do realise that both Elland Rd and Headingley are privately owned sports grounds and as such can apply any T&C they see fit as a condition of your entry, and have you thrown out if you do not abide by them having agreed to do so at the turnstile ?

I've sat in all seater stadiums where dipsticks like you refuse point blank to sit down in front of me, they were completely selfish and without a brain to reason with and unfortunately the stewards were ball-less - I'd have you evicted every time if it were down to me.

I have a minor headache, and some paving slabs to lay.

I should not be laying paving slabs, I am an artist, these are fine hands not to be sullied by manual work, but will my wife listen, no, she will stand at the kitchen window and watch me lay every one and not relent until the job is done.

Years ago I took my youngest boy to see Leeds in European game for his birthday - to say he was excited was an under statement. Unfortunately a selfish like you decided he would stand all the way through the game so my son was unable to see anything. The following week he went to the Rhinos could sit and see everything - he is still watching the rhinos every week and hasn't returned to Elland Rd since.

Arrogant individuals like you is the reason soccer has such a poor reputation for the sporting nature of it fans. Your attitude has duly been rewarded by the quality of the entertainment and the success on the pitch of the team your go watch.

As I get older the more I appreciate seats at sporting events

Me too I wouldnt think of standing now,Although while I'm sat in the north stand enjoy the atmosphere eminating from the south stand

You can't pre-book where you stand but you can pre-book where you sit.
Hence, I sit and I have an extra hour per week that would otherwise be lost.
Mind you, I get the same whining eejit sat directly behind me every time.

& don't get me started on those loudmouths who insist on bellowing out the score on the sky game I've recorded to watch later.
