I think it is generally accepted that Leeds was very much a great rugby league town/city before the Revie era.

Sadly even in a place like Wigan football now rules. When a club that only joined the league in 1978 with no history can get bigger gates than the greatest (arguably) club in rugby league things are really looking bad IMO.

I've had a long running dispute on the Wigan boards about how poorly supported I think we are considering the success of recent years and the relatively low price of admittance coupled with the far greater entertainment on view. All to no avail. (It must annoy the hell out of you that LUFC can still average 23,000 despite the relative dross they regularly serve up compared to the massive success the Rhinos have enjoyed on crowds of 15,000)

Seems that the club have finally listened to the fans, and worried about attendances, have finally acted in the manner they should have been acting months ago.

I congratulate them on finally getting something moving, and look with interest at where we go now. This has now wetted my appetite a bit.

As for Mossop, I don't exactly rate him highly, but my god he is a million times the player Bailey or Kirke are.

Getting things moving depends on the receiving club too. But the crucial bit is the second half of the quote. Getting rid of Kirke and Bailey isn't, in itself, that much of a statement particularly if the outcome is Lee Mossop. I'd be looking with a hell of a lot more interest had they pruned back the heart wood a bit more.

Like has been said earlier it looks like he was told he was moving.

Add BJB to the list and even allowing for some improved contracts for younger players we must be well under the cap.

With Yates, Baldwinson and Mulhern to get some game time. I'd be quite surprised if we signed another prop to be honest.

I wouldn't be too surprised either and think we would be fine were we to do so provided JP stays fit of course.

It would be nice to intergrate another proven front liner into the squad though were one available with retirement of our first choice two imminent.

I would be very surprised if we didn't. Resigning Kylie was a massive error. Will be surprised if he makes 12 games this year, so definitely need a frontline replacement.

Anything can happen .I wouldn't be surprised if Kylie announces his retirement early an off season is a longtime at he's age

I know JP and Kylie are model props in some ways. But potentially at 37 in 2015 they may be relied on more than ever. So far our forwards are depleted. More signings must come IMO.

What's worth thinking about too is that although Cuthbo should be a good signing, he's really more of a ball playing pack man than a meter eater - we definitely need some more grunt up the middle to make the hard yards and get quick play the balls.

Re: Mossop. He was good in 2012, but since then he's hardly been fit, and his form in 2013 dropped quite alarmingly. In fact I'm not sure the 2013 version of Mossop is that much better than what we already have.

Also (whilst I don't like him at prop) there's the real possibility they will try putting Achurch there. (If he's staying)

Leeds Utd attract a vast following from out of Leeds, they are more of a regional side. Fan base covers Wakefield york Selby pontefract castleford normanton knottingley fev. All with big RL Followings as well but spread over 4-5 teams. The vast majority of rhinos fans are from Leeds probably 89-90% bet 40-50% of Utd fans come from elsewhere.

Mossop's form aside with the run of shoulder problems....its a roll of the dice type signing.

If we're moving one of our backrows to prop it should be Delaney.
