| Hetherington is well past his sell by date and needs to step aside with someone who understands the modern game.
We have not moved on in what 8 years yet each year we are rebuilding.
Blumin heck Wakey will get a new ground before we have built a top 3 team again.

Longer than a year.
Short term thinking is part of the reason we got into a mess squad wise.

No, he’s consistent in making poor choices in terms of playing and off field personnel. He’s starting to stink the place out.

We got into a mess when JJB went squealing to Hetherington about Furner.

Bar a few spurts in half’s we’ve been very ordinary all season.

Adrian Lam started this season with practically a new squad most of which are players no one else wanted whilst Smith had a full pre season with his team that he took to the grand final by this comparison I can't for the life in me understand what the problem is at Leeds, out of the cup and if we finish lower than Leigh will we stick with Rohan or get the check book out and get Lam in?

| To make the playoffs, over the rest of the season we will need to win 2 games more than St Helens, 3 games more than HKR, Salford or Leigh. We are in 8th place now, with Hull right behind us, who is confident that we will make it?

| Consistency in spine positions is what is hurting us.
Leigh are a good example of that, sky mentioned they’ve had something like 10 ever presents so far this season including Lam, Ipape and O’Brien I believe.
Hulls uptick in form has coincided with them getting Clifford, Hoy and Trueman back on the pitch consistently.
We’ve had to chop and change. Wigan have had to chop and change and they’ve also been inconsistent. Hudds almost have too many options and haven’t found a settled combination.
It’s not the only reason, and it doesn’t completely get Smith off the hook, but there’s a definite correlation.

And yet Wigan were awful in their last year with Lam.
It’s almost as just looking at the coach as the main reason a team does well is too simplistic isn’t it!
Lots of things have to fall into place for a team to be successful.

| I think its fair to say that after a good few years of mess, most fans were looking forward to/ expecting more consistent performances this season.
That just hasn't happened.
Many of the same failings are seen each week, only McDonnell has stood out in the new signings and then unfortunate long term injuries to cap it.
I dont think we shoukd be sacking Smith, he has to have the chance to use the cap and get the team he wants to play how he wants.
However, he has made odd/ bad calls on selections and subs and been unable to get us playing for both halves or the 80mins and its now June.

| In my opinion it is simple . We have employed a coach to win matches and make us competitive with the top 4 /6 , playing organised and entertaining rugby ,with some good recruitment for the future.
Last season - we reached a Grand final - positive result / recruitment questionable .
This season - our tactics ( or lack of them ) have been worked out by all teams. Last years recruitment has now shown to have been poor ( dire in some cases ) and after Saturdays interview, it seems our coach wants to coach the team for the way he thinks the game SHOULD be played . He is deluded.
Tactics today need to include line speed , pressure the opposition, kick to corners ,a hooker who can make a break, get repeat sets , 3 men in every tackle and push the rules as far as you can each week ( just watch Saints ) - everything we DONT do ( and obviously not coached to do ).
Smith is stubborn and will not change from his vision of how the game should be played , so that is why he has to go NOW , so we start looking at next season . If we leave it to the end of season , player wise we will be left with the dregs that nobody else wants eg. Lasone .
Smith is in a results business - end of . Sack him now.

Lam has done a great job with Leigh. He's also had two years to spend big on players entirely of his own closing. Smith has not had that luxury.

| Leigh have been very fortunate with injuries (lack of) to key players this year which has helped their cause.
They have however been playing great Rugby so fair play to them.

It's obvious that we're on opposing sides of the fence, but one thing I would acknowledge is that Smith needs to show the ability to adapt and not flinch from the more pragmatic/cynical side of the game. Otherwise sides will just capitalise on his corinthian approach. Of course that won't address the fundamental problem, that being that the players in our spine positions just aren't collectively good enough. I believe what he achieved (with a rabble) last season has earned him the right to address that.
