I don't get the Briscoe thing! Leeds managed to get him but did they really know what he was like as a player. Pretty average if you ask me and nobody knows where (position wise) he is supposed to be playing. Even in an interview several months ago Brian Mac said "even I dont know what his position is yet". Brian Mac also said "He is making steady progress". Seady progress!! That means snail pace to me.

Following a conversation I had with Barry McDermott at Friday's game, I am not convinced Brian McDermott has too much of a say with the academy levels. Barry was quite scathing in the limited opportunities for a number of individuals. And like me, and my party on Friday night, he was quite astonished at how Peacock was flogged on Friday evening.

Watkins is going nowhere and is contracted until 2017 according to GH.

Cool that's good to hear as I think we all agree on what Barry is saying there. Was he specific on people he thought should have had a go by now?

In terms of B Mac talking about Briscoe it was when Vickery got injured 1st time and Briscoe, Watson and Keinhorst were in the runnig to drop in - Keinhorst filled that role for 1 week I think.

According to todays YEP GH confirms there has been no approach for Watkins and he and our other top young players will NOT be sold.

I presume you realise Gotcha's party was talking to Barry McDermott rather than the former Leeds player Barrie McDermott.

I have, over the years, come to believe that what GH says and what really happens are seldom the same.

You are correct regarding peacock,but the impression I get is peacock wants to play all the time. Also on a number of occasions this season when it looks like Mac wants to substitute him he seems reluctant to leave the field.

Personally, I would like to see one of our top 3 players, and vitally important at that, not be the liability he was from the 23rd minute onwards, looking an absolute embarrassment. Like I said, a good team would have run at him and crusified him in that match.

As a respected coach, and former prop had the same ideas on Friday, I am prepared to stick by that argument.

I didn't go Friday so can't comment but Peacock has been having his best season in a good few years this year and he is playing longer spells.

Peacock look far more knackered at this stage last year but came on strong for the playoffs.

I know who you mean. I actually think he's the most complete centre Leeds have produced since Chev, at this moment in time. I think Watkins has much higher potential but he's not there yet.

But he was, apparantly, just "filling in". If Watkins does go (as now seems unlikely so it looks like it was, after all, an over reaction, I would be satisfied with said Academy prospect "filling in" for another three Grand Finals.
