IIRC there was an initial altercation outside the nightclub at which point the victim was subsequently pursued and the assault completed on Mill Hill.

I wasn't actually knocking Graham or suggesting that Bailey was a better player (however I appreciate that you are a bit touchy about FGB so I should have been more sensitive).

My real point (and admittedly maybe I wasn't clear enough) is that Graham is a good example of a player that Ryan has got under the skin of and as a result his performances against Leeds last season, IMHO, have been below his usual high standards (because he spent far too much game time charging around trying to prove how tough he is)



Bailey has in fact had about half a dozen consecutive decent seasons in a row at a top club but opposition fans don't notice that - like they don't notice that he rarely gives away penalties, has never been sent off and has very very rarely been sin-binned

Bailey is a wind up merchant. He irritates opposition players and fans, he wins penalties and gives few away, but you'd hardly say he's feared. Players have no problem running at him or tackling him. I've seen bailey put on a few big hits, most notably against warrington in 2008, but he's not feared or imtimidating, just a pain in the ass.

Fact is Bailey put his own safety at risk to help the rhinos win and give us all entertainment. Briscoe threw himself at a man who couldnt defend or protect themselves and it resulted in Bailey getting knocked unconscious, which is no minor thing. If that doesnt show you just how brave the Bailey is, nothing really will.

Bailey is a cheap shot merchant and it's good to see him get a taste of his own medicine, bearing in mind that Briscoe wasn't penalised, cited or charged for that 'offence' yet Bailey's 'headbutt' was penalty sufficient due to a ball steal. If you're big enough to dish it out you must be prepared to take it back!!

i would say any incident that resulted a player being knocked out for as long and as badly as Bailey was in that incident probably shouldnt be mocked. It was a very bad one.


I never said it was a cheap shot by Briscoe. He did what he had to do to try and stop the try even though it wasnt likely to cause him any injury. Bailey did what he had to do so Leeds could score the try. Knowing that it would likely cause him injury. Bailey sacrificed his own safety to help Leeds. He put his health on the line to help secure a victory. He could have not passed and protected himself and likely would have been tackled, but instead he passed the ball, took the hit, and if that makes him a coward, windy, sh@thouse, cheap shot merchant i can only hope we as a game attract a whole heap more of them

Maybe Leeds having all these windy f00kers prepared to put their bodies on the line to secure victory is the reason they have won 4 of the last 6 titles. Appearing in 5 of the last 6 gfs, winning the last 3 in a row. And the only thing the brave honourable Hull FC players have acheived since 05 is a record defeat in a grand final.
