No, if you had I wouldn't have asked would I? But why else would you pick him there in favour of moving our best left centre to the bench? Especially when Ablett's other position in the back 3 of the pack is one we have so many other options in (Ward, JJB, Delaney, Bailey, Sinfield etc).

Did he actually say that you did?
Either way, I'm sure there is a logic to putting Ablett on the bench in order to shoehorn Keinhorst into the starting team any which way, thus arguably weakening the LC position. I'm just not sure what it is?

| We won't need Ablett in the second row because Hall will be playing there to allow Chisholm to be on the wing. So of course Ablett should be on the bench.

Not bad logic and 'out of the box' thinking Nanty
Warrington are a great attacking side and are likely to score points in most games. So whilst needing a big defensive effort we will also need to keep putting plenty of points on the board to have a realistic chance if winning. Therefore I do not think that packing the bench with similar forwards, who will put in the tackles but offer little in attack, is the best game plan to beat the Wires.
With Delaney, JP and JJB capable of high tackle counts and long game time backed up with a big effort from Bailey we should have room for some extra attacking flare too. Therefore I think your suggestion is a valid one as with Ablett coming off the bench we will maintain the quality of the afore mentioned when they rotate. Playing Keinhorst would mean taking a risk but one that could well be worth it.
I would start Ward in the halves and Burrow at 9 and keep both on when Lunt gets a shift. We have to attack them and gain the initiative and that means not only taking some risks but also taking our attacking opportunities whenever they come which means having creative players always on hand.
I would have taken a risk with Webb on the bench but I guess the coaches know if he is not mentally prepared for this one.

Keinhorst is very new to RL at this level, and quite new to it at any level. He shows great promise, but nothing in his 3 appearances so far suggest that he is yet at a level where you would describe him as a likely game changer from the bench. Webb as a gamble I can understand, Keinhorst's pay-off for the gamble is too unlikely. His time may well come, but I don't think it's this time.

I think we should go like this but would have Stevie Ward at scrum half, Lunt at hooker to start with. Bring Rob off the bench as impact. If we start with Rob expect him departing on a stretcher within 15 mins with Mr Westwood's elbow imprinted on his head. Wire for good reason will fear Rob off the bench - from their point of view he is much easier to handle if he starts - which is why we should use him as an impact player.

I am sure Leeds will go with 4 forwards on the bench and not risk Keinhorst. As I said to play him would mean taking a risk but without McGuire it is worth considering. I would not want to fall short because we played an extra tackler rather than a runner. On the other hand our defenders could rise to the occassion and prevent them gaining momentum and that could eat away at their confidence and produce the win.

If those sides are correct then interesting to see us start with Ward and Burrow at 7 & 9, the best attacking option he could have picked and suggests McDermott wants to go for it from the off and not have the more solid and stronger defender in Lunt starting at 9.
Waiting to see which sides Warrington's wing/centre partnerships line up on, that has them down as Riley/Atkins on the right which would mean a chance for Hall to outjump Riley for them cross field kicks, also Ratchford if at left centre, whilst he has got some good reviews there i've heard, i like the look of Watkins going against him. I do suspect they might be playing on the other sides though.

| If those squads are correct why on earth as clarkson been given a chance after missing the last few games through poor form. We need to match warringtons pack and for me clarkson doesn't do it. I would of gone with moore on bench.

| Poor decision if true. Moore over Clarkson every time this season.
Moore has better go forward a good off load and his defence is as good as Clarksons IMO.

That would mean we'd have had Peacock, Kylie, Bailey, Griffin, Kirke and Moore all in the same match which would look a very fatigued pack come 80 minutes. Clarkson can play more minutes and will hopefully be dependable in defence.

It'll be the usual of Riley / Atkins on the left and Ratch / Monas on the right.
A lot of teams think they can pick on Riley because he's quite small but most fail. Having said that as a Wire fan I really rate Hall.
I think Ratch will hold his own. Our right side is definitely the slower of the two sides, but aerial strength is on the right.
Looking forward to those battles, but overall I favour our pack and bench.
Have a good game guys but I hope we win !

Good point and why he will have got the nod. Clarkson is dissappointing with ball in hand as is Kirke and Bailey but each usually offers safe and sound defence around the middle of the field. We will need someone though to prevent Westwood running and offloading out wide.
