Leeds - Saints attracted 15,000 to the semi last year. 13,000 capacity is a sensible estimate given Cas' smaller average attendance.

I got it wrong re-ticket prices i was led to believe it was £28 across the board but that isn't the case.
www.therhinos.co.uk/news/17062.php
Stand by it being the wrong venue though and way too small.

Pretty sure Leeds will have more than 7,000 season ticket holders therefore fans not been guranteed a ticket for a semi final. Cas get 6,000 for a regular season home game and this is their biggest game in a few years. The RFL should be aiming for bigger crowds for semi's.

Personally, I have the view that if you want a ticket enough, you'll make sure you get one.'"
So, if (and I'm not saying it would happen) everyone who has a season ticket for Leeds wants a semi final ticket, how is this going to work?
I suppose if you have a fat wedge of cash you could get one off someone, not sure that's the right system though.
For me it's a bit of an anti-climax to go to a semi at a ground that much smaller than the one you go to home games at.
Sell-outs look nice on telly I suppose, but if you're turning away hundreds of fans, you're also turning away thousands of pounds of revenue.

It has been shown that time and time again, this isn't the case though (sadly). Perhaps the RFL have cottoned on to this?
Quote For me it's a bit of an anti-climax to go to a semi at a ground that much smaller than the one you go to home games at. '"
There would be a better chance of having it at a larger stadium in fans (from all clubs) turn up in force to the 4th and 5th round at the QF. These matches suggest there isn't really the demand to warrant holding the game at a big stadium.
Quote

Perhaps Leeds and Cas aren't that bothered about the level of lost revenue? How much would they actually lose when you take out Doncaster's slice, and the RFL's slice. I'm sure there was an opportunity for the club to push for a bigger stadium? There must be some sort of communication between the RFL and the clubs?

| Hmmm, not sure about this. I think we would have struggled to get above maybe 15/16k at Huddersfield but at least every Leeds Season Ticket Holder would have the opportunity to purchase a ticket.
As this is, 3k + Leeds season tickets holders will be potentially disappointed and I really can't see any tickets at all going on general sale from Leeds and and Cas will sell 4k easily.
I also feel a little bit for the Cas fans. They will be outnumbered nearly 2 to 1 because the tickets have obviously been split based on season ticket/members at each club, which while being the only fair way, if they had gone for the Galpharm this would have not been an issue!
As for Saint v Wigan at HJ then that does seem very stupid! They could have gone for Reebok and released the tickets for the lower tiers first and then gone to fill the upper tiers as required.

Leeds 7,000 Cas 6,000 not quite 2 to 1
Should have been at Galpharm though.

2,000 empty seats seems a bit excessive as I thought it was 15k+ capacity

| The capacity at the Keepmoat is said to be 15,231.
I seriously suspect that will be plenty big enough for this game. If the RFL are really lucky it will sell-out but that is far from a given.

Reebok wasn't an option apparently, Bolton have a friendly on the Friday and didn't want two games played there on that weekend.

Prices for the bottom 2 bands are on a par with a normal league game be it at Cas or Leeds so I think it's reasonable.

There's apparently a shuttle bus for DRFC games. I imagine that something similar will be running on the day of this game: www.footballgroundguide.com/donc ... By%20Train
Like others, I don't believe that £20 or so is excessive for a semi final. It was £22 for yesterday's quarter final and the price is comparable with most league games.
