| SL has always been a poor man's NRL. Never been a question about that.
It is still capable of producing decent entertainment though and the difference is only really relevant when it comes to the international stage.

The actual quality of the NRL, especially this year from what I've seen is world's apart from Super League, which IMO has been shocking so far this season, however SL is equally if not more entertaining than the NRL as sometimes is the National Leagues.
But as you say It's when it comes to the International game where we look like chumps!

| he actually got about 5 minutes. came on whilst they stitched pearce back up
made a few tackles, didn't see the ball in attack (roosters only have 1 n half sets tho whilst he was on)
guess roosters where hoping for a better game, so that he could come on whilst they were winning comfortably. shows he's not far making the team at least, in a competition "thousands times better"

| The NRl obviously isn't 'thousands of times' better than SL - else how would you explain the likes of Sibbitt, Thorman, Mathers and now Tansey even getting a game? It is better, but not by as much as some would like everyone to believe.

right, you've named four 'average' sl players who have played in the NRL. now do the reverse I.e name all the average nrl players who have played in England in the same period!

He has named four below average english players who have played in the NRL.
There have been hundreds of average SL players who have played in the NRL, both before and after their SL stint.

| christopher - I'm no SL apologist. The gap between SL and NRL is very large. The gap looks even bigger when you take a look at standards in 'second tier' compas such as the Queensland Cup. But the gap is not as big as that gbetween say the NBA and any other domestic basketball comp in the world.

| Just signed upto that AussieSportTV (all games for £7.50 a month online! Better than that scam Setanta are pulling) and watched Tanseys 6 minutes. He missed a block that led to a try and then was one of the players in an offside position that led to the equalising penalty.
Also watched the Wests - Storm game! What a cracker that was. Ellis was outstanding apart from his early missed oportunity when he came back inside as a try was begging. Hit hard and ran harder. Only Wests 10 was a better forward IMO.
As for the standard of the 2 leagues. The NRL has improved a lot this year and speed of the game has overtaken us with the 2 refs. Much better than what I watched last season (although there were a few decent ones). IMO it is £7.50 well spent.

Don't forget Gareth Ellis getting into the 'team of the week' or whatever it's called twice in a row!

I'd say that's dubious, I don't think Tansey is the sort of player that would be caught offside. Ask the Bulls fans

| Well done Jordan on getting your name up in lights on last night's Footy Show.
You've already overachieved on this season's expectations for me.

| Got 75mins today aganist the dragon's. Had a good game as well. Good under the high ball. Backed up well and showed a good step. Seemed to get a bit tired at the end and missed a couple of tackles. But that's probably understandable due to his lack of games. It would have been a good game as well if the Roosters had any idea in attack.

| Apart from the two missed tackles at the end where it was clear he was struggling with cramp, I thought Tansey was the Roosters best player.

I agree and with no disrespect to Tansey, that's probably why the Roosters were so $hit. That a young English kid with virtually no NRL experience can come on and be their best player, means the rest of them should have a long hard look at themselves.
Having said that. Most teams are going to struggle to stop Soward at the moment. He is immense.

| [url=http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,25393870-5018866,00.htmlEnglish recruit Jordan Tansey out to emulate Adrian Morley's Roosters run[/url
Quote After swapping the cold of Leeds in northern England for the beachside life of Sydney's eastern suburbs six months ago, Roosters fullback Jordan Tansey finally got a proper taste of the NRL on Anzac Day - and he wants more.
[iTansey played his first 75 minutes in the NRL in the defeat by St George Illawarra on Saturday, after Sisa Waqa was forced out with a back injury, and showed some promising signs in an otherwise disappointing day for Brad Fittler's side.
The 22-year-old made the brave decision to leave English giants Leeds Rhinos last year and, after chatting to former Roosters prop Adrian Morley, opted to take up a two-year deal to play in the NRL.
Tansey's move received far less fanfare than his close friend Gareth Ellis's switch to the Wests Tigers and he said he expects more players from England to try their luck in Australia.
“I still speak to the lads back at home and they are really interested to know what it is like out here and would definitely like to give it a go,'' he said.
“Gaz (Ellis) is a good mate and we try and catch up as much as we can and have a game of golf and he is doing really well at the Tigers.
“I have been here six months now and am still getting used to it, but I like Sydney, there are a lot of good places to eat and living near the beach is very different to home.''
Morley enjoyed a magnificent career with the Roosters helping them to three successive grand finals - including victory in the 2002 final against the Warriors - and Tansey said the prop had nothing but good things to say about the Roosters.
“When I first came over here Moz was over as well (on holiday) so I had the chance to catch up with him and he told me all about the club and what to expect.
“He was a bit of a legend here and if I can have half the success he had when he was here I will be delighted.''
Tansey admitted the game is very different from what he experienced in England and the pace took him by surprise.
“It's a lot different and with the two referees it is much faster but I am really enjoying it, it's a great learning experience, I just hope now to get a few more games under my belt and really show what I can do.''[/i'"
