Who'd he play for?

If he had played as well as he had this year we would have struggled to make the play offs.

Pretty good last night to say he wasn't anything like 100% fit.

One of these players who puts his money where his mouth is - if the intention is to play Tomkins at FB then Danny has to start at 6 for England.

Said it for years, he is like a Benji clone. In previous years his consistancy hasn't been there but this year he has performed week in week out. IMOhe has to start for England.

Danny McGuire was the MOM but don't forget the crucial contribution of Burrow. His cut out pass made our first try and his break set up one of DM's.

Shame he won't get any nomination for Man of Steel, because he deserves one.

Why not? Look at who won it last year. But I guess as Wigan have topped the table it's not possible to pick from any other team. Strange that doesn't happen when we top the table? Strange that our coaches never get nominated either? I guess we must have a different cap to everyone else.

Danny Mcguire's best attribute is his speed. Unfortunately last night, he looked slow. As a half back for me, i think he was shocking, his organisational play is poor, and failed to direct the team. Both burrow and mcguire, look slow and in my eyes havent done their roles as half back.

When he made that break, in the opening few minutes. How did he not score that? Slow slow slow slow. 2 or 3 years ago, he would of scored that easy.

On top of that, time and time again he has shown that he cannot preform at international level. Everytime he pulled on the international jersey, he's been shocking. If he plays in the four nations, i'll be shocked, Sam tomkins and kyle eastmond everytime. If eastmond isnt fit, put myler straight in there.

I might get slated for this, but still, he's slow, old and not good enough. especially not for international level.

Myler has done little to warrant inclusion in a fully fit Warrington team let alone an International side.

Eastmond is St Helens equivalent of Lauitiiti lately. The mind is willing but the body is weak.

ive been saying it all season, Mcguire has kept us in the hunt this year. Burrow, JP, Sinfield and Webb have all struggled with Injury and form this year, Mcguire is the big name who has kept us going, would not swap him for any half in SL.

With a decent organising half back against 12 men for 70 minutes, it would have been a walkover.

Swap McGuire or Burrow for Briers yesterday and Leeds win at a canter.

Add Eastwood for mine.

He wouldn't have needed to, the game would have been won with 20 minutes to go.

I could be wrong, but our team did create enough chances to win by that much, but the final execution let us down.

[uNever[/u for McGuire....but yes, maybe, for Burrow. Have said elsewhere you cannot deny Burrow's spirit, pace and broken play ability (and his pass yesterday to Donald wasn't bad either). I really do admire the little guy.
However, we do undoubtedly need a Briers to complement McGuire (the better of the two....certainly by far this year - DEF our player of the year) if we want to continue challenging the best from half back.

With Clarkson commanding a regular position we could maybe find the answer in moving Sinfield more permanently to Stand Off and Clarkson taking Sinfield's place at LF. Burrow as super sub / better interchange hooker than Diskin.

Am i watching a different game or something? Where have you been the last however many caps danny mcguire has for england?

He's been awful for england. He's not been good for leeds either. The only reason you think he's played well is because he's scored a few decent tries.

Okay, thats a great attribute. But you had a man overlap on the pitch last night for 68 minutes? nearly 7/8ths of the match? and yet you failed to romp that team. That makes me think that your offensive organisation is shocking.

I beggars belief that you want him to be picked for england. If i was you, i'd be worrying what bluey is gonna be doing to sort you offence out.

He's slow. He cant organise, and has failed for england many a time before.

Yep he's the reason we've had our ar#es handed to us on a number of occasions down under and in past tournaments of course the other 16 on duty were world class and just unlucky to have to carry an average player who has "scored a few decent tries" in his time!
Personally i would'nt want any Leeds player near the England team because afterall we have the mighty Tompkins and "Rich tea" Eastmond who are our saviours now and now the likes of Wigan are actually looking like a possible threat again that puts on the path to world dominance.

that simply isnt the case, and its a very simplistic view of our game.

We made plenty of breaks, and had plenty of opportunities, numerous times forwards like Eastwood and Ablett were put through gaps, and Smith and Delany had a couple of opportunities on the outside, it is simply we lacked any kind of creativity in the three-quarters.

I always though that was something of a miracle!

not a fan but yesterday he won the game for you lot..good peformance..think you nee a better sh than burrow now though!
