What the hell you are watching god only knows. But does not surprise me bearing in mind the player in question.
Buderus has both arms wrapped around the player at all times. At no stage does his arms or hands go between the players legs.
I suggest you watch it again. I did the same thing after your comment, and can see clearly that you are wrong.

| If the Buderus ban is overturned on appeal, it'll be tantamount to sending out a green light message to all players that spear tackles are ok.
Let's hope the RFL judiciary apply due diligence by dismissing this ridiculous appeal.
Protection of players from dangerous tackles ought to be paramount.

You just need to go to the super league site and watch the highlights. I put it up on full screen and kept pausing and playing. At no stage whatsoever does Buderus put his hands or arms between the players legs. He keeps the same hold at all times, which is both arms wrapped around the player.

They've already done that by not punishing the Manly player for doing worse to Buderus or failing to punish the Wigan player that did it to Eastwood!
The fact remains that the governing body and many of it's components are'nt fit for purpose.
Oh and i have no problem with the Buderus ban as long as there's consistency and transparency within the disciplinary system!

Watch the third replay of the incident, 4.23 in to the highlight footage. Where is Buderus' hand? Anyone know how to do a screen grab?

| I thought he'd get one match and he got one match. I don't think there is any conspiracy. I would be surprised if Danny himself was not thinking the same.
One of the problems with the judiciary is that examples of inconsistancy are used to have bans overturned on appeal rather than to have bans imposed where they should be.
All I hope is that it's not Danny's last game of the season.

agree mate
I think the words that came out of my mouth when Buderus did that tackle was "you ******* idiot"
however as I have put elsewhere the pathetic punishments given to the Wigan players for incidents in the game should have also had bans and fines

That is not what you said above.
You said in lifting the player he had his hands between his legs. That clearly is not what happened.
Until the player hits the floor Buderus does not release his wrap of the player, at that point of release, when down on the floor his hand does go between the sprawling legs as he tries to get up. If that is what you are determining as hands between the legs then every tackle in the game better be looked at.

Massive back track duly noted.
I take it you now concede he has his hands between the players legs, having earlier said "[size=150At no stage whatsoever does Buderus put his hands or arms between the players legs.[/size"
There's a screen grab on it's way, btw, before you go into fog knitting mode.

Only back track here is you. You stated that he had his hands between the legs in lifting the player and in the tackle. The hands only go there once the tackle is completed.
Are you saying that every tackle where the hands go between the legs is a banning?

So you think Buderus was set out to do a dangerous tackle? I dont believe any spear tackle is conducted on purpose. Its all about technique. You will see Buderus pick up and dump players (legally) on there backs a couple of times per game - its his tackling style. Unfortunately when you do it as much as he does sooner or later your going to get the technique slightly wrong and cause a little danger. Unfortunately this is what happened on Sunday.

I've no more idea than you what went through his mind so I wouldn't make such a definitive statement as to what he did and didn't mean to do.
I don't, however, believe that a player tackles someone, lifts them, and turns them in some unthinking, involuntary motion.

Jesus do you really need to be so childish, and I need to make it clearer for you.
The tackle made by Buderus, at ALL times he had the player wrapped up with both this arms round the player. AFTER hitting the ground and releasing the player his hand in pulling back goes between Prescotts legs. I repeat AFTER hitting the ground and RELEASING.
I am happy enough to stand by those comments, and you will find them absolutely correct.
NOW, are you saying that if a players hands goes between a players legs on the floor in the tackle, that he should be banned?

| Gotcha - stop biting.
I suspect G1 knows exactly the point you are making and has done for some time, but in typical "look at me, c*ck of the walk" fashion is now piling on the pedantry simply because it's you.
Do us all a favour and bring the matter to a close.
