Strange as it might seem for one Leeds fan I know that draw at Griffin Park was pretty much the final straw as far as supporting Leeds went - rather than a tricky away game in which one point was a creditable result, to him it instead proved once and for all that we were a bunch of losers. He has barely been seen at Headingley since and brings that match up pretty much whenever I meet up with him!

Blimey. That whole season was pretty much one long brilliant drunken pleasure ride, as we smashed the rest of the league to pieces. Even when drawing at that London, I wasn't really that bothered. I can't believe that he called it quits after that. His loss.

It is I that he refers to, and yes, despite the success we went on to, I did indeed keep harping back to that ridiculous moment when we snatched a draw from the jaws of a comfortable win. It reminded me of the fragility of being a Leeds fan for so long, that despite having a potentially legendary team on our hands, we were still capable of "traditional" Leeds performances.

Maybe after waiting so long for a championship, the one blip on a classic season is why it sticks out, somewhat bizarrely.

You would think you could try and take some credit for being a sort of reverse-bandwagoner, the very epitome of those Leeds fans who look fondly back to the 1990s as a sort of honourable golden age, before this embarrasingly decadent past 8 years

The success we have had - of course I love it. But I feel the vitriol and hatred that spews out of the nostrils of fans of less successful clubs, particularly Wigan and Hull (the most vocal on here), gives more pleasure than the actual trophies in the cabinet. Which I guess is what its all about.
