| Think Agar sounds a bit over critical of some players in that press conference. I have to be honest I thought most played really well. Only ones I can critisize are Hurrell who is every bit as poor defender as Lolohea was, and having Dwyer on too long, who leaves big gaps in the defence.

| Quote ="Mark Laurie"Too many dumb errors, Lunt knocking on and then losing the ball both within 10 of their line, both centres are poor in defence, that kick off drop killed is. I thought we were average to poor at best. At 20-8 down, we looked out of it and fair play they came back well, but I thought FC looked a better side overall.
I’d be surprised if we win at hudds and then we will be staring into the abyss.
Our future could well now depend on whether Saints rest 10 or not. Depressing.'"
I disagree we were poor/average I thought we looked the best in attack for a while but...
I agree on the dumb errors, our league position is clearly affecting the players as at some points they look like theyre expecting to make an error.
Thought Rhyse Martin looked good in attack but his defensive technique cost us a few times with head high tackles.
Newman is learning the hard way but you cannot expect a young player to come up from the Academy to not make errors

| I thought we were second best over the 80 minutes but could have won with a bit more composure towards the end. We struggled to contain Hulls go forward most of the time. We are a poor side and joint bottom is where we deserve to be.
I thought we improved when Dwyer came on, and bar his late error Peteru didn't do too bad considering that he has not played for a while.
Not the long term answer at 6 but Cameron Smith did ok imo.

I thought we had a dig to come back from 12 nil.Hull's goal line defence at times was brilliant. If we had just a little bit more composure and not headless chickens at times it could well have been a different result.Much improved from the Hull KR debacle.

| Errors have killed us all year. We keep saying cut them out and we'll win but we keep on making them. More worrying in the last two games is the slow start.

I still think a few real high quality additions in key positions would transform us.
Our back row looks pretty strong next year - especially if Ward can get and stay fit, and if we stop having to play back rowers in the halves or at hooker due to another signing or two there.
Our back line also looks OK next year (if we stay up of course). Newman, Walker and Handley all have improvement in them. Handley gets stick but he’s been pretty good at times - certainly not our biggest problem.
We clearly still have some problems around half back and still front row for me.
We’re not all that far away IMO; but the issues that remain are sticky. I suspect we might have to wait another couple of seasons to really work this out, and for our top young talent to amount to something in first grade.

| We lack structure in our attack weve no moves and no spread plays with dummy runners. That was fine when we had Maggsy and Burrow who could break a game open or an Ali Lau who could attract 3 men to him and still offload but we dont have any of that at all now and were still trying to play the same way.
We should be looking to put both centres into space but we dont really seem to ever have a plan as to how to do that.
As people have said Hurrell's defence is beyond belief, flying in to sort an issue that doesn't exist and leaving Handley outside him with no hope at all. Absolutely unbelievable. Surely they work on this thru the week but it happens every 5 minutes so who knows. I think that he and the team defends better with Ferres inside him but I know that's not a popular opinion but it is the truth.
Weve started the last 4 halves weve played shockingly and were not in a position to do that.
Lots for Agar and the team to work on. Really disappointing and not good enough.

| Hurrells a problem for me, said it all season, for all his highlight real stuff, he just makes too many basic errors with the ball in hand and too many bad reads in defence. The ammount of times he knocks on when trying to play the ball really is unbelievable, The odd game where he cuts these errors out, he's quality and often our best player, but he dosnt seem capable of cutting them out for long. Really torn on him because i love his attitude and gamebreaking ability when he cuts the mistakes out and in his defence, we dont use him right.

| Was impressed with Leeds yesterday, you did not look like a side who lose more than they win.
Did look like we’re going to blow you away after 20 mins, but credit to Leeds once you found your long lost mojo. After that it was a great contest of Rugby League.
The Handley intercept was like a 12 point try because we were going in in that corner had his gamble not paid off.
That appeared to give you a real lift and knock us back in equal measure in one foul swoop. So it was great to see us show a mental strength to get back on top in the arm wrestle enough to get the winning try and put together a desperate defence to keep you out as the final seconds ticked away.
Never realised just how spent both sides were at the end. You don’t usually see so many bodies collapse at the hooter.
It was a great contest and we found something when we had to.
It was ferocious and non stop out there and I hope it will hold us in good stead for next weeks semi final battle.
A tough game and I thought we deserved the win.
Leeds are where you are because you’ve been pretty crap all season, but if you could find some consistency at yesterday’s level you are nowhere near relegation fodder.

| As much as I hate what we do to ourselves, we just need to back our team at the minute. Agar is going anywhere but that is a huge problem we need a coach to inspire, get the best out of them and realise that they are lucky to have such a job. The ref made a lot of mistakes yesterday, for both sides but quite crucial ones for us, we can’t blame him. We made a lot of errors and some bad reads and let’s not forget, Hull played well and wanted this win, Redford hates losing against Leeds. People slagging of players like Hurrell, he has made some bad calls yes but it was never going to be quick fix. We just need to get through this season, stay up obviously and then go to town. Personally on this break now, I wouldn’t let them have time off, only maybe a long weekend. They would in digging out at training getting the basics right.

Konrad was a mega thorn in our side yesterday, all action devastation in attack, yes he makes the odd fek up, but who doesn’t, outstanding entertainment, Leeds relegated, no chance.

| To be fair to hurrell Hull's first try was scored through a limp-lettuce tackle attempt inside him whilst he was marking up. That would have made him look inside the rest of the game.
The worst try we let in was through Newman's awful grab and miss. Dreadful technique and nothing to do with age - if he'd bent his back that would not have been scored.

To be fair to Newman he learned and looked a lot more solid after that and even smashed the same guy (I think it was the same guy) later in that half.
RE Hurrell I'm getting the sense he's going to be the new scapegoat target around here - I've seen it creeping in.

| This is what I mean about mental weakness, they’re just not concentrating for long enough to be effective. We seem to switch off regularly, resulting in simple errors, and that then gets compounded when we get frustrated and give penalties away, leading to more defence, more errors and getting gassed.
We must stop turning the ball over so cheaply, and that’s about concentrating more. If we don’t then we could easily be in the mix on the final weekend when we play Warrington...

| We'r second in the league in errors made and second in the league in penaltys conceded, backs up what we'r seeing on the field, pretty unintelligent team with a poor mindset....Concentration, Focus, composure all lacking.
The rest of our stats are actually pretty impressive for a team in our position.

Newmans defense is atrocious, he is costing us fames, he may be one fir the furute but he is looking poor at the moment, i would move Handley to centre and luke briscoe on the wing for next few games, or give alex sutcliffe a go

| Hull fan in peace, I thought the game was as expected a close and tense game as to be expected with your need for wins and our need to find consistency in performance. Thought we were controlling the game up until the Ash Handley intercept (if he'd missed it we were in and game over) then you got the momentum and we seemed to lose our left hand sliding defence and you capitalised to go ahead. Another poor error from you again lead to us scoring and ultimately getting the hard fought win.
I think we were ok but helped to the win by a combination of your errors and daft penalties at crucial times and areas of the field.
Hurrell was a handful and caused us problems with the numbers he sucked in to defend, he reminds me of Fonua, great going forward though makes mistakes but positives outweigh the negatives.
Think your biggest issue is Agar to be honest as you have inherited the same issue we had under his tenure as coach that once your in the opposition 20 there doesn't seem to be any real genuine threat or structure to your to unlock the defensive line. Plus our discipline under Agar was also pretty dire and dumb.
Think Wakey are in big trouble with regards relegation along with Rovers and possibly yourselves, whilst London are in the mix the pressure to an extent is not on them as they've been expected to be dead certs for the drop before the season kicked off.

Our stats for yesterday were also on paper better than Hull FC's, its clear that ill discipline and errors are costing us big time.
