Hopefully we build on it now.

| Job done.
3/4 more of them and we should be fine. Have to really target the games at HQ and be bang at it every time today is a good start.

| Quote ="Gotcha"The ref though is an absolute Joke, giving every decision to Catalans, and ignoring every offence they do.'"
Catalans always seem to spoil & play heavily on gamesmanship, must be a nightmare to referee. With that in mind my hunch (and it is just a hunch) is that Mikalauskas was conscious of the fact that he was penalising them a lot so in his efforts to even things up (and not be seen to be biased) he then gave them every call possible.
It was a skinny 10 metres throughout and even then they were stood in front of him but he never called offside all match (I don't think). There were 2 double knock-ons started by them where they got the scrum and as referred to elsewhere contact with Singleton's head was just ignored.
According to the YEP the final penalty count was 10-7, laughable that it was so close when their number conceded could easily have been double that.

| Agree regarding Cuthbertson, his best game of the season. When given the freedom to offload he is a different threat altogether.
Very impressed with Donaldson yet again. He has as good a tackling technique as anyone around. He is always quick off the line and has a tremendous work rate. A shrewd signing imo and i would be more than happy if he was given a deal for next year.

| Very important result today, keeps us right in the mix. Anyone falling behind now has almost no time to catch up.
We need to keep the momentum going, and even if we don’t get the result at Cas, make sure that we don’t take any steps backwards.
Beat HKR and London and we are probably one or max two wins away from safety.

| Just seen the brief highlights, some nicely worked trys, the first Catalan try was a worldy. Sammy T looks to have been on Sam Kasiano's diet!

| The team might not be perfect but its come on a million miles since Agar took over. I think the real improvement has come since Watkins’ departure was announced. Today’s performance is the best for ages. And yes, Myler did have a good game, along with Cuthbertson and others who’ve been getting stick all season. Didn’t see much positive from Ferres though, despite his future surely being under threat!

Agar praised Sutcliffe today (rightly ir wrongly) so its surely ferris who makes way fir the new signing.
I’m also impressed with Donaldson, Id give hime a deal beyond this season, yes just a squad player but a very dependable one

| Sutcliffe tried hard and kicked a touchline conversion, but he came back inside when we had 3 on 2 out wide. I enjoyed the game, but still feel in attack that everything stops with Sutcliffe, Ferres & Smith. I'd get rid of all 3 in close season.

| Meh! That's not saying much. We need to be looking at cut out passes to our dynamic centres and let the likes of Cam Smith just defend.
Oh yeah, and Sutcliffe was out ill when we had our best game of season at Salford. That's no coincidence.

Agree for the most part. Particularly Ferres and Smith are hanging in the attacking line instead of making a run to draw defenders off the centres.
Funnily enough when we did that today we looked dangerous and opened up Catalans defence.

You missed off his amount of carries, which is what highlighted why he is a poor selection. 15 carries for s very poor metres per carry rate, and no passes to his centre. Watkins was producing those number of tackles and no misses, but much better AVG, and he wasn’t a back rower.
That said, I agree on backrow his best position, and he is certainly better than Ferres. Although Ferres did come up with a couple of big tackles, I doubt Sutcliffe could have done.
If Agar made a point of him as a good game, then that is the problem. We should be getting far far more from our backrowers in an offensive sense, to come close to saying good game.

Next year, if Ward gets fit, Sutcliffe will be bench at best.

| Saw plenty to be positive in the game yesterday. Defensive effort was good and while I didn't think Lui set the world alight he slipped in really well and was linking up play nicely. Think he'll be a great signing. Does anyone know what our completion stats were? Felt greatly improved

I thought he was at LF yesterday?

| The “Sutcliffe Problem” is under control finally. We tell him he’ll be playing back row and that’s it. He conditions and practises accordingly. By 2020 he’s in the mix with some talented and established back rowers and he fights for his place on merit.
Maybe their performances were due to structural changes in the team but it is interesting how several players suddenly found season-best games yesterday.
Cuthbertson is playing like a man possessed as of last 2 games, where has he been??

Has Cuthbo been told he's playing for the last year of his contract? or has he finally got over those niggling injuries? either way he's been outstanding recently

He wasn't at loose forward, definitely not. He was out on the right, inside of Newman. It was quite funny when Sutcliffe looked at Newman in disgust telling him what he did wrong in that second half one, where Newman blew a 3 on 1 situation. Newman was wrong, but hopefully will learn to stop trying to step everyone all the time, however Sutcliffe had done the same things numerous times, and you just know every time he is going to take the ball in, instead of passing.
