| Walker 15 Golding 15 games
Briscoe better season
Kallum injured since may
Moon average n retired
Hall left and Briscoe not good enough
Sutty poor
Myler good first 3 months
Garbutt never fit
Parcel not as good as last season
Singo average
Jjb finished
Ward never fit
Cuthbertson can't play prop n loose at same time
Smith good potential
Dwyer played well since given a chance
Ferres disappointing 3 years
Oledski big potential
Walters Mullally Ablett Delaney thank you time is up.
So all in all is it any wonder 2018 has been like it has?

| Do we know if Furner will be allowed to change the conditioning team? We've not been fit enough to play for 80 minutes all season. Even lower division teams finish stronger than we do.

I really hope so. We need it addressing. Our warm up has been the same for what seems like 20yr.
I'm amazed Kev didn't come in + see us doing the same drills as when he was here and say "Christ - are you still doing this?!" And change it.

| I've a feeling that Calum McLelland may end up forcing his way into the team Jack Walker style. The guy seems to have pace to burn and an eye for a gap, so at the least this should put him ahead of Sutcliffe in the pecking order for the halves.
We may end up having to go with Sutcliffe at centre, which is probably his best position. No reason why he can't make a success of it if the attitude is right.
I agree we really need some new forwards with grunt who are more than just workhorses. Failing that we need to get the likes of Garbutt, Ward, and Cuthbertson fit with other players doing the unspectacular stuff so they can focus on doing what they do best in attack. Lots of promise with the likes of Smith and Oledski too, hopefully they can both go up another notch during the off-season.

| As a club we need to move forward and changes are needed, we see as a club to have stood still over these last few years especially in terms of development. GH needs to take a long hard look at himself and admit some responsibility, I don't have any sympathy for McDermott as I believe he had become stale , but you can only judge a coach on the players he has been given and for the last 3/4 years recruitment has been poor, also to revert back to coaches like JL who have been away from SL for some time is a recipe for disaster. We seem to have been doing things on the cheap especially player recruitment. Massive changes are needed and true leadership is needed. I am hoping that Sinfield takes this opportunity and works closely with Furner to build a squad capable of challenging the top teams. Some players have to go, there is no future for Ablett, Delarney, and JJb they are all blown out, all have missed half a season through injuries, so no future, the major issue is the pack, don't expect the backs to perform when the pack is running backwards, sort out the pack and we can progress, Furner knows the score, he knows the players we need and who he wants to work with, so expect changes in the forwards and once the crap has been replaced we will be up there.

Don't think so - IIRC he went to York on a permanent move, at the same time that Ormandroyd went on loan.

| To have a chance of being a serious top 5 side next season, the following positions need sorting out IMO.
1) Left Centre. Sutcliffe is a useful utility backup
2) Left Wing. Luke Briscoe just isn't good enough
3) Prop x 1 Garbutt is a sicknote similar to Delaney
4) Second Row x 1 to replace 1 of Ablett/JJB/Delaney
5) Loose Forward x 1 (proper ball player). Not a one trick pony like Cuthbertson
6) Hooker (tackling machine) to replace Parcell who is too much like Dwyer

13 should go to Ward or Cam Smith & given that ball playing role.
9 Corey Johnson should be given a crack at 9 he has everything a class 9 should have.
Wrt BR i think we need 2 minimum with a 3rd place given to Trout/A.Sutcliffe on a rotation basis.
Wing spot is not a major priority imo but would be nice to bring one in 8f poss when the other spots are filled.

| I don`t think we will be putting the likes of Parcell/Dwyer out on dual registration in order to bring in another hooker unless one of them is leaving.

| Well according to Peter Smith we are spending up to the cap.
I don't for one second believe that, but if we are then we truly have pooped the bed.

Then that is truly horrific. We have the weakest squad for a very very long time, I cannot possibly see how that squad justifies a full cap spend. It can't be true, can it?

Depends, winning the GF might have triggered some upgrades as would some younger players making so many appearances. However I thought GH's genius was ensuring the younger players stayed on low money until they became senior players so that you had space to recruit?

| Even with upgrades, theres no way that we should be anywhere near the cap with this squad.

| If we were how did we manage to fit Crosby and ginger-nut in?
How does the dual-registration/loan thing work in respect of the cap - is Lilley on Leeds' cap?

| Shocking as that would be as others have said players will have got big upgrades above their realistic value upon higher earners retiring or moving on so until we release more players i can't see the cap space left being that much.
The likes of Ferres, Cuthbertson, JJB, Ablett, Delaney, Ward, Watkins, Myler and Parcell will all be on top money. Sutcliffe and Singleton will have gotten big pay increases over the last few years too along with a few of the younger lads breaking in on better deals now.yes Hall and Moon free up some cash but that will have been close to taken with the signings of Lailua and Mclelland.

| It would seem that when Sinfield said he was ready before the Halifax game that he was ready to "push the buttons" as soon as our SL status was secure, he was being a bit disingenuous.
It now seems that "pushing buttons" perhaps is nothing more than dialing numbers on his mobile phone to enquire about players who are out of contract. So perhaps we have not got anyone lined up yet.
After so many years of success without needing to spend on signing up top class players, we really should be in a position to go for a big marquee signing like Cameron Smith (the original) We really need someone of his stature to turn around the despondency on the terraces and lack of leadership on the field.
