My point was aimed more at other posters TBH who, if we play a talented kid will say he's not ready, not big enough, not up to SL yet etc.. and if we don't play a talented kid those same people will slag the coach off for not giving him a shot and for "sticking with his favourites".

You may well be right in your view of the coach and his handling of Golding, I'm sure you will be quick enough to point it out down the line if you are, but to call people out as 'idiots' because their opinions don't meet yours comes accross as a bit arrogant... and i'm not trying to start anything here BTW

Id say most are in favour of playing the younger lads especially if they are selected in place of out of form/injured or players not pulling their weight.

What a load of complete BS credit is given where it's warranted as is praise plus lets make it clear we are fans paying our hard earned week in week out so if it's sh*# it deserves to be called sh*#.

I think most on here do posts their true opinion - the fact it doesn't agree with yours doesn't make them idiots.

1. This is the biggest club in SL that couldn't finish in the top 8 last season and was very lucky to avoid finishing bottom.
2. The squad for this season is arguably worse than last season - recruitment has been a rookie hooker and two championship players!!
3. This is a club that repeatedly suggested the Boxing Day game was going to be the last opportunity to stand in the SS despite knowing it was going to be open this season
4. Development of young players doesn't appear to be delivering the quality that could reasonably be expected from a club that gets the pick of young players. Part of which could be the lack of opportunity these players get to play for the first team.

These are facts not opinions - not an attempt to have a go at the club/coach/chairman.

Perhaps if you were more prepared to accept all is not rosy in the garden then you would accept that perhaps the "idiot" is you?

On the game - it should be an interesting match - it will be a good barometer of where Leeds are - with Saints having no half backs I expect Leeds to win. If they don't I think it could hit the confidence and that will be tough to recover from.

I'd agree with that. If we put in a decent performance but are on the end of a narrow loss then whilst disappointing it's not the end of the world because whilst they're missing their starting HB, it is still Saints away, always usually one of the toughest tests of the year.

Performance wise very rare any team flies out of the blocks 1st round so they'll be plenty of stuff to work on afterwards regardless of the result.

Im not sure I agree, I don't want to be too pessimistic, but if we loose I can see this teams confidence going through the floor because of last year.

Certainly seems that way, Mac suggesting he's earned his place. Suppose its up to him to keep it for a least while Galloway is out, as you wouldn't think he's in competition with either Brett when they get back from injury.

Despite all the talk we showed little mental toughness last year when the going was tough - if anything we showed a victim mentality far too often. Its hard to see how that would change without major changes in the squad and coaches, which hasn't happened.

I have no issues if baldwinson doesn't play tonight and experienced players do.

I think that's what everyone is saying. The difference of opinion is whether this held true last year - I'm with those who argue it didn't, and whilst BM had no options in some positions, he did have an extra, fit prop who wasn't played despite last year being the worst in the club's history.

Not really. Performance is key, not result. Early season game, neither team will be up to full speed, but the test for either side is how far behind the other each is.

Even on a good day, and what The Printer alluded to, you could probably expect a loss away to Saints. What's is important is for Leeds to show they are close and put in an encouraging performance. Something not happened often enough last year.

This is what the huge majority of fans are hoping for i think above all else.

It's not must win but we need to show a good performance. If the performance is poor as well as the result it's a worry especially after last season a good showing is needed
