| Quote ="MjM"I think you're missing the point. If the RFL had the same rules regarding respect for away fans as are in place in football, Pearson would not be allowed to price his seats as he has done. Although the pay on the gate price is high in its own right, it would be just about palatable if it the equivalent seats for home fans were the same price.'"
I see you chose not to copy my opinion on the South Stand (home) pricing
AP may have been naive in the way he has set the pricing policy but he has effectively decided to offer home fans in the South Stand a season long discount of £4.00 per game. Whatever views continue to be expressed or debated nothing is going to change this season. AP is a businessman and I'm sure he will sit down at the end of the year and review every aspect of ticketing, I would expect that next season the pricing gap between North & South to be closer and any discounting to be done by other incentives.

I don't care what local difficulties you have - Pearson's (unlikely) benevolence, a "reward" to fans or some wierd thing with your rented stadium agreement - that is of no interest.

| We don't get many away fans anyway, so we might as well charge 'em more
Seriously, it's not something I'm overly chuffed about. But at the same time, very few people sympathised with Hull fans having to pay double everyone else to stand behind the posts at Hull KR. We aren't victimising any individual clubs. They all pay the same.
I can't see it staying that way in the long term. But the prices aren't going to change this season. It's still better value for money than buying a ticket for the Western Terrace.

| Maybe when Hull make this fixture competitive again I might be more interested. As it is they're charging Leeds fans a premium price to watch our annual guaranteed 2 points.

I'm guessing that you have dismissed my argument as you have no reasonable explanation.
..and you are another one totally missing the point and trying to disguise this gross injustice by clouding the argument with irrelevant waffle.
The question has been asked time and time again but as yet NO-ONE has given a satisfactory answer. Why are the away supporters charged £6 more than the home support to watch the same game from the same standard of seating?

You can have the same answer as has been given to everyone. The pricing is not decided by the fans, but by the management. You can ask the question a million times but you will always get the same answer.

| If you think it isn't a fair price for the product then don't go. Simple. If you think it's an unfair price but pay it anyway then you're a mug. RL teams are businesses, and if the punters are prepared to keep paying, they'll keep charging.
Injustice? Uh-huh. Right. Bit of perspective needed perhaps?

| Earlier on this year, when I read about the differential between the North and South stand pricing at the KC, I emailed Hull FC and warned the club there'd be complaints such as yours. The reply was as Sheldon pointed out, reward for the home fans for loyalty. Unfortunately, I knew away fans wouldn't wear this. It may change soon but Wigan brought a reasonable following the other Sunday and if away fans keep on turning up then it probably will stay in place.
On the other side of the coin, I've not gone through the entire thread but to get into Headingley to stand is £20 for an away fan. Then if you want to sit down like every speccie at the KC does regardless of where they are, it's £5 more at the cheapest, then £7 more or £10 more if you want to sit in the middle at the end. And those were last season's prices, don't suppose there's been an increase.
If it cost you more to sit down at the KC as an away fan than at Headingley as an away fan, then I'd have a bit more sympathy with your indignation.

| I once went to Hull...and managed to get home OK with no damage to myself or my car.
Life is too short to push my luck and ever visit again.
It's scary enough visiting Headingley when Hull are in town!

It's a well reasoned argument...if you want to sit down.
Most modern rugby league grounds are built with large amounts of standing (Warrington, St. Helens, Salford) precisely because people want to stand up. I hate sitting down, and most away fans spend a lot of their time on their feet. At the KC you have no choice - you have to pay for a seat.
What really matters is the minimum that it can cost you to see the game - at the KC for away fans it is £25, at Headingley for away fans it is 20% cheaper than that at £20.
I'll admit now that I am not going. It will be the first game at the KC that I have missed. This is partly because it is on SKY, partly because I don't fancy a late night home from East Yorkshire, and partly because £50 (for two) + petrol + something to eat means that it is just too expensive! It has pushed me over my acceptability threshold.
If you are treating a twenty pounds home ticket as a 'reward' then you are easily pleased, or duped. Everyone else in Superleague is playing £20 for a ticket behind the sticks and that's a standard price with no reward involved.
It's not acceptable behaviour from Hull and in my opinion all away supporters should consider boycotting the KC until parity is restored. Which is a shame, or perhaps the intention?

Unfortunately, this is a well spread myth. Away fans can sit anywhere they want to at the KC, reserved season pass seats excepted.
So you can actually take advantage of the South Stand seats at £19 if you so wish.

My emotive language was specificity selected to rile our Eastern brethren, I would have thought someone with your intellect would have seen this.

They can, however the North Stand tickets (£23 in advance) are supplied to the away team for sale prior to the game, inferring that the away fans should be seated there. In the same way that Leeds supply Western Terrace tickets to the away team.

Yes but everybody is surely their own person. If you don't want to pay £25 to sit at one end, pay £19 to sit at the other. Just because Leeds are issued with "away" tickets doesn't force you to buy one.
Leeds may have issued Hull FC with "away" tickets to the Western Terrace every time we've visited Headingley but I usually sit in the North Stand.
You should watch the "Trainline.com" advert on the telly more often.

They are and I know that I can purchase Hull tickets in any stand I wish, as you do at Leeds (and I don't blame you going in the North stand over the West).
However, I'd guess the bulk of away tickets are purchased in advance from the away team (who will have been supplied the pricier tickets from Hull) or as a walk up (probably directed to the away designated stand) and not purchased in advance from Hull in the home stands.
Plus how many people will spend the time checking the away team's website for tickets or want to sit in a different stand to the rest of their team's fans?
Maybe in future, fans travelling to the KC should get organised, not get tickets through their club and go in the home stands to save a few quid.
Also, I'd avoid using thetrainline.com as they charge a bit extra for the same tickets that you can get cheaper elsewhere (a bit like Hull )

Yes, I'll do that, I'll go sit in and amongst the Hull fans because we all know how welcoming and friendly they are.........and each time Leeds score and I stand and cheer I'm sure to be met with a friendly pat on the back and shouts of encouragement.......?............or would that more likely to be punches in the back and death threats?
