Do you think Briscoe is a replacement for Hall, im a Hull fan and think Hall is top drawer, scored some amazing tries, but Tom at his best is a formidable replacement. Granted the lad aint played at his best for us this year, but he is young and all though some disagree, I think he would step into an NRL side and not look out of place.

I don't pay any attention to them but I know some do - Briscoe's stats according to Opta for Hull V Leeds last week made Vickery look good.

Quite. But Briscoe to replace a departing Hall would also be a good signing. If Hall does go (desperately hope he doesn't) then the club will have replaced him with the nest best available, if the rumours are true, IMO.

You mean by having a 5 man 3/4 line? That would be good. Do we have to lose a forward or just have 14 men?

If Hall decided to depart for the NRL tomorrow, that wouldn't be Tom Briscoe.

Not on current form it wouldn't be. As much as Briscoe is going to be a loss for us (at his best he's sensational), we really cant afford to spend a chunk of our cap on a player whos blown hot and cold for 18 months. If you were going to sign the next best winger after Hall tomorrow, that would be our other wing.

If Saints carry on losing money hand over fist, I wouldn't be averse to sticking in a cheeky bid for Tommy Makinson.

As the Hull fan says - on recent form Briscoe isn't even the next best winger at Hull let alone in SL.

Briscoe may however be the next best winger among those who are coming out of contract at the end of the season - which may better explain Leeds' interest if indeed they are?

I think a change of club will do Briscoe wonders to be honest. If you can get him back to form and you have the best wing partnership in the country. Big if though!

Surely Josh Charnley is far and away the best winger in Super League. Look at the try scoring charts. How do you explain the number of tries he scores?

He doesn't have the advantage of playing with a great centre (although Goulding is vastly underrated), the halves are hardly anything to write home about and he scores against everyone... even Leeds.

He is lightening quick and strong too with a great step and never let's us down in defence. Briscoe is good, but Charnley is miles better.

That would be an interesting debate to have - whether it's Hall or Charnley that is the best overall winger in SL.



Perhaps replying to the poster who implied Briscoe was the next best in SL would be the place to go with this rather than addressing that point to me.

Even from a biased Pie, I reckon Hall is probabaly the better winger, but Charnley is improving massively, whilst Hall seems stuck at present...England can pick both, I don't think Briscoe is in the arguement.

Is that not just down to the stages of their career lets not forget charnley is 4 years younger.

Charnley and Hall are very different players. I think Hall is still ahead, Charnley seems to be getting better all the time.

I'd sooner not choose between them and see them both in the England side in the Autumn.

Charnley is very good and in better form this season than either Briscoe or Hall.

However, Hall is, IMO, the best. Then the debate is between Briscoe and Charnley. This season, Charnley wins that argument, hands down.

However, there's no chance of prying Charnley away from Wigan, Briscoe is coming out of contract and Briscoe's form this year is not evidence of decline, IMO, rather than a result of his circumstances. Which is why I said "in all the circumstances. Sorry if you didn't properly understand TVOC. A resonably intelligent poster would have.

Can you two just get a room?

For Hall the timing from his families perspective may be better to go to Ozz sooner rather than later, he still has a baby. A few years later he will have a little boy ready for school. So the tranistion may be easier now possibly.

Everyone's different, but (as I know you've had a nipper recently) would you really want to move away from family at that point? We're 130 miles from our nearest family, and that's further than I'd like with the mini-Diablo.
