Not something I've tracked but I assume those are 52 consecutive Leeds SL Regular Round fixtures contained within a run of 63 matches (Leeds all comps) between 22nd July 2006 and 20th June 2008 inclusive.

His current consecutive club run stands at: 29 SL regular Round fixtures within a run of 41 (Leeds - all comps) - so still a way to go.

No disrespect to Sinfield but this is going too far. I hope there's always room for a maverick or two who isn't prepared to follow the text book. That said, I'd probably be happier seeing them playing for other clubs.

Kevin Sinfield is the greatest leader of men we have ever had at Leeds, infact he is the greatest of any sporting team from the city of Leeds.

I also can't believe he as nether won the man of steel award, but there is time yet.

Agree thought he might have picked up an award but as a team we haven't picked up many individual awards in our successful period.

Its not just individuals though. If you look back over our seasons since the 2004 GF win I don't think the outstanding achievements of Leeds as a team have received the credit we should have.

As for Sinfield, he's going to go down in history as our greatest captain and pointscorer. He's also quite articulate and seems like a genuinely nice guy who is respected by his peers. Does it matter that he's perhaps not the greatest player ever? Not to me. Schofield and Hanley were far 'better' players, but won sweet FA for us.

And thats the rub.

Would love to see a statue of Kev in Leeds city centre, most of the old dude statues there at the moment, ive not a clue who they are! would be good to have someone recent/current and a role model for kids in the city. much better than some old guy that died 300 years ago who invented some cr@p

Agreed, not Leeds' greatest ever player, but IMO the most consistent of Leeds' greats. he has probably been instrumental in winning more games than any other player in the history of the club.

Even great players have occasional bad patches and poor performances, but I can't think of any other player where they've come so infrequently over such a long period of time.

Kev is a true professional: a smart player, leader and ambassador with phenomenal endurance and the coolest goalkicker you'll ever see. He can be summed up in just 3 words...
