I vaguely remember hearing that, I think it was played in a school assembly.
Apart from the terrible cod West Indian accent, was there any other racist element to it?
I thought it was a take off of the songs they did on That Was The Week That Was in the 60's?

ok sorry clever clogs it was the 1971-72 fa cup final and was re released when united got promoted but that does not matter one bit. It could have 1921 Fa cup final (Spurs v Wolves if ur gunna get pedantic) the point is that its a football song not a rugby song.

Thats about the sum of it although you have to also emphasis the "fuzzy-wuzzy" accent on "Tim-buc-toooo".

That was along time ago now, when the opposition fans took a chunk of the Southstand. I remember turning round and waving at Hull KR fans when Steve 'Slippery' Morris had scored a lastm inute winner for us.
When it stop being the norm? I suppose when our crowds went up to around the 10000 mark on a regular basis.

| Quote ="BaldRick"An alternative set of lyrics needed ? How's this ?
Other fans can rave about the teams they think are best
They have Wigan , Quins , the Bulls , the Hulls , the Saints and all the rest
But let us sing the praises of the lads we love the best
As Leeds go Marching On
We're all here to watch the Rhinos
We're all here to watch the Rhinos
We're all here to watch the Rhinos
They're the greatest rugby team in all the land
In the North Stand and Carnegie if you want to make some noise
Come and join us in the Southstand we could use and extra voice
Our songs are really simple , everyone can sing along
And watch the Rhinos marching on
We're all here to watch the Rhinos
We're all here to watch the Rhinos
We're all here to watch the Rhinos
They're the greatest rugby team in all the land
I've always been a Rhinos fan , I will be 'til I die
Then my heart will stay on the Southstand while my soul goes to the sky
But I'll come back with angels wearing blue and amber wings
And this is what we'll sing
We,ve come down to watch the Rhinos
We,ve come down to watch the Rhinos
We,ve come down to watch the Rhinos
They're the greatest rugby team in all the land'"

| Irony is some of the Leeds UTD fanbase in places like Cas and Wakey get rather annoyed when hearing this sung eg/last years Grand Final. We have nicked their song according to them.

I generally remember that it was only really the Hull clubs that occupied the Southstand on-mass, whatever the weather, with other clubs fans generally only coming in if it was raining or looked like rain.
I seem to remember we stopped people accessing the South Stand from the western terrace (they could still walk the long way round the North Stand though then if they really wanted) when crowds started to head up, even before they made it a separate ticket area altogether, and that is when we started having no away fans in the Southstand I think.

| I remember Hull taking over the centre of the Southstand once. Not provocative at all that. They got there first and paid their extra 5p. Thankfully it was a good while before kick off and the police and stewards managed to get them out of there.
If Leeds fans had tried doing that in the Thruppeny Stand at the Boulevard there'd have been a riot.
