The A1 north of Newcastle now consists of a rutted icy track. Strangely the roads in morpeth itself arent too bad. Anyone thinking of heading north through Northumberland- Dont

Im in Liversedge/cleckheaton and we seem to have feck all compaired to else where. Main roads seem to be snow free. Is it just chaos else where?

Avoid the outer ring road!!
Queing from Horsforth and Crossgates. All because of a jack knifed lorry.

Inner ring road is dead though, just major arterial routes out of Leeds thats the problem apart York Road as far as Burger King @ Killingbeck

spent yesterday walking in the derbyshire peaks very lonely

it was cold but lovely scenery and good old Network rail had the manchester -sheffield trans pennine railway open

but with the wind and drifting snow you could see why the Snake pass ws closed

13 inch of the stuff here. Chaos.spent all day gritting and towing vehicles about.also clearing paths for pensioners. Loads of coffee and cakes.

Message to drivers: Clear all of the bloody snow off your bloody car - that includes the lights and roof - not just a letter-box sized gap in the windscreen!

So erm, no snow here in Birmingham.

My driver is supposed to be coming here from Leeds tomorrow to take me home on Friday, so will he make it out of Leeds tomorrow or will I be booking a train ticket for myself ?

On the other hand if he's stranded and can't get here I can snaffle another nights allowance and book a first class ticket home for £39 - sounds like a plan, if I get into Leeds lunchtime Saturday will I be walking home to LS16 ?

Its fun here tonight, The Blues vs Villa going on just up the road, police everywhere, two helicopters up the air, all the pubs shut, I've just paid £6 for a sandwich and £3.40 for a pint of lager in the hotel bar because the word is that its going to kick off around here tonight.

Should have brought my old LUFC scarf to hang out of the hotel window - I've heard that Leeds supporters are still made very welcome around here.
