Just said that to the other half. Leeds top points scorer and a captain who has won SL four times. Clearly if you wear blue and amber you can't be considered.

I'd imagine that any players that do have an issue with him would be able to swallow their pride and vote for him if they think he has had the better season. I don't see him losing enough votes for that to be an issue.

I don't think players watch as many neutral games as the fans do, so the hype surrounding Tomkins will probably be enough for him to get the votes, although Roby has been superb again.

I still find it amazing how this so called prestigious award was never awarded to a Leeds player from '04 to 09 (with the exception of '06).

i think teams have learnt how to play tomkins now and he's only looking good against tired teams
even against catalan he did very little with ball in hand altho his kicking looks to have improved

roby and graham are the main reasons saints are in the top 3 and the stats on roby are fantastic both in attack and defence

chase has been brilliant at times this season but in some games he's also gone missing

i think roby will be in with a good chance in what essentially is a popularity contest as tomkins arrogance might count against him


personally someone like monaghan,morley or menzies has done more to deserve the ward with top notch performances almost guarenteed when they play

Roby for me, he was far and away statistically the best player in the competition earlier on this year, and he carried Saints when they had about 11 first teamers out injured.

Obviously every one will say that I am biased due to being a Leeds fan. But honestly how can it be right that Sinfield is overlooked every year. He has been a superb captain, ultimate professional, game winner and top points score as well as being a great bloke. is there nothing I can sign in protest?
