OK so serious question, who would you push into first team next season?
If Gale is coming then we’re only one good prop from looking half decent IMO.

Tonight showed the changes that we need to make to start to challenge for a top five place. We are no where near a top five team, and apart from Jack Walker the young kids playing tonight were not yet SL standard. Newman simply at his age he needs a rest, he’s played too many games this year, Cameron Smith he seems to have gone backwards, NIcko he also needs a rest. I sometimes think that we are relying too much on the young players, even with the golden age they were brought into the team over time and gradually given more game time, I think we can over play these kids if we are not careful.

| Until this year our signings have mainly been bargain bin projects. The only major signing before this year since 2015 was Myler who was supposed to replace McGuire.
That would maybe have been OK if our youth was churning out quality but thats not happened either.
Unless we do make some changes I don't see why anyone 'at the club' would expect much better. A halfback would help but my word we've got some poor players who get picked every week.

I disagree that were nowhere near a top 5 side, were nowhere near atop 1 or 2 stars de but the clubs around 4 5 and 6 aren’t much better if at all better than us

| Aren't much better but beat us regularly. Gotcha pointed out that most of our wins since Agar have been against other teams in the mire. We're at around 50% with Agar and a bunch of signings.
Whilst we might not be able to get a top flight coach and stick with Agar, I'd say he's done an OK job but nothing at all suggests he'll squeeze a lot more out of this squad.

| Tonight proved how important a decent Coaching set up is. They have 1 top class player but their Coach has them well organised every player WANTS to put a shift in & they deserved their win.
We are at the very least a HB Prop BR & starting winger short , thats before you look at the Coaching set up.

| We'r going to waste more years under agar, i like him as a person and he's done the minimnum required to get us safe, but cant believe we'r going to appoint him full time...the club is fast becoming a joke. The coach in the other dugout last night is night and day better and would most likely jump at the chance...but we'r going with the upper managements mate, unbelievable!

| Nobody is saying Agar is the Messiah. In his career he has been an average coach really.
There are just so many variables in creating and maintaining a winning side - including some Lady Luck. Coaches commonly get too much praise for winning and too much stick for losing.
Look, Agar took over a demoralised camp where the head coach had just been sacked and the side is floundering. He has steadied the ship, got some positivity back, been involved in one or two helpful signings and ultimately guided us to safety.
I don’t know what some of you expect honestly.

| I excpect Leeds Rhinos to be looking for the best coach available, its not hard to understand. If you think Agars that man, then i dont know what criteria your looking at. He's getting the jobb because he's GH mate. Things were toxic under Furner, just getting him out was going to lift the squad, addition by subtraction. Our results under agar, with a better squad, with an easier run of fixtures, without the toxic environment...Have still been rubbish and he seems unable to get them to build on any signs of improvement, soon as thers some optimism, we put a s**tshow like last night on. Theres a reason Agars a running joke among the rugby league community, especially the fans of the teams he's coached.
Tell me what he's done in his whole carreer that has you struggling to see why a lot of fans are upset with his appointment? What has Agar done that qualifies him to coach one of the 2 biggest clubs in the british game?
Im not saying anyones wrong to be optimistic about him getting the job, wish i shared that optimism...But you must be joking if you cant see why a lot of fans think we can do and excpect us to do much better.
Ps. Forgot to quote, thats in response to Karuejim

Why is it so wrong to expect appointing a top coach?

| Announcing Agar will put the final seal on a truly dreadful season. Prepare for more of the same next year.
You've got to question Kev's future at the club too, because, if true, its another shocking call.

Cheers for the pep talk Sinny.
What i expect at an Elite RL Club like ours is an elite Coaching set up able to get the best out of a squad mixed with quality ,reliable pros & a sprinkling of our best youngsters.
Funnily enough its what most elite sporting set ups have.
I dont expect to win every game or every Trophy but a set intent of havung us competing for all of the above again.
I dont expect Bullsh!£ pr employees , a squad full of has beens & never will bes or a Poundland Coach getting a job because some "like hiim".

| Talking of coaching set up 2 of the u16s assistant coaches was sacked this week. Not sure who but was told they should never have been coaching at a club like Leeds and should never have been earning the money they was.

| The appointment of the next coach will set the expectations of the club and send out a message to the fans. Appoint Agar and the club is saying mediocrity is acceptable and not just for a year.
I am always sceptical when players come out and say how much they like working with a coach - usually suggests the coach is too soft. I want hear the players saying how much they respect a coach e.g. Wane at Saints or Bellamy at Melbourne

| There’s always talk of these top class experienced coaches from the NRL but in reality how many of them actually come over here and the ones that do how many are all that successful?

| I think the squad next season is a bigger issue than the coach. If we dont have some forwards who love defence and love getting their hands dirty it doesn't matter who's coaching them and our backs will never have a chance. Also, we just need an average half back that can kick out of hand and is always ready to make a pre planned last tackle play. We don't need 40/20s. We just need a nice low grubber over the try line or a long kick that doesn't go straight to the winger/full back. I don't think you can coach that into someone when they're already a full time pro. It's either in their game or it's not.

| A good coach can make a massive difference, look at how quickly saints improved midseason when holbrook took over from cunningham. They went from rubbish and awful to watch... to an entertaining team and a shocking Percival goalkicking performance away from the grandfinal...all in a few month.

Not me for one. I said he was behind the times and out of the game too long, and Hull KR were favourites for relegation. In the same manner Agar has been out of the game far too long for a head coach.
