I missed far too many away games last year including the usual trips to Wakey and Huddersfield so hopefully i'll be able to get to more this season because i do like a good away trip especially when we are as welcome John Terry at a wedding!

At least they have a recognised panel of seven now for the seven fixtures each weekend, albeit at varying levels of experience with Alibert and Child the recent additions after the loss of Klein.

I like the look of Child (what I have seen so far, which is limited) and like the fact that he has been ref'ing from a young age and not come to it after finishing a playing career at any level (and the baggage that sometimes brings). I think he is very much like Ben Thaler, likes to let the game run and often I think the players respond better if that is the case. Too much involvement can lead to the problems that Smith had with both sides getting frustrated with him and the decisions on Friday night.

I know what you mean about the back-track and of course it most certainly is by the RFL, but the part-time route (and real part time, of a couple of full days a week plus weekend game time) might be the way to go, given the fact that I don't see how we can not move to the Aussies system of 2 ref's in the next few years!

I was not at the Leeds v Salford game for some reason... can't remember why now, so can't comment but if you have no issues yet, we will go with that. Lets see what happens on Sunday at Belle Vue!

isnt it great how aussie refs can't handle a game on their own, but the aussies will insist on their own refs to referee on their own in test matches and the WCC.
