| I thought Ward was the best player on the pitch, Hall was also very good in the centre, I wonder if we'll see more of him there?

I agree with this. Also thought Sutcliffe read the game really well and took a more dominant role. Thought Aston looked very promising also playing for them.
Can see Singleton banned again. Think he must have a screw loose that lad.

| Job done, into the last 4 of the cup, Saints lost to Hudds last night in the league so strengthens our top 4 chances, now sit back and watch Hull and Cas hopefully knock lumps out of each other on Sunday.

| Sutcliffe offers a good running threat but sometimes when he opens it up he needs to pass it rather than take the tackle on the half break.
Walker needs to get more game time too. Golding is the 3rd best full back at the club.
No way should Singleton be banned. It was outrageous that he was penalised. The penalty was only given due to the Fev players injury.

What exactly happened there? From my view in the Carnegie end it looked like the Fev player tried to tackle Singleton with his head.

He definitely led with the forearm. But then he followed it up with a shoulder charge that went unpenalised around 2 mins from end.

Didn't he start at centre and then they switched early doors? I may be wrong, I was a few pints in by then...

Walker really felt some of the impacts last night so he doesn't look ready physically for more game time just yet.
WRT to Sutcliffe it'll be interesting to see what happens when Ze German returns which is possibly 3 weeks roughly.

Sutcliffe is a better centre than Jimmy. I'm in my opinion of course

I think Jimmy is ideal off the bench (if used...) he's versatile and can do a job in the backs or as a loose forward/second row, plus he always works his socks off.

| No idea why we risked Galloway when Baldwinson could have slotted in nicely.
Hall went well at centre and Handley certainly has more pace than Hall and the combination worked well.
Golding is a better full back than Sutcliffe for me.
Roll on Cas.

Tad I've said for years that Sutty is best suited to being an out and out centre
Sutty has the running game to be able to be a line breaker like Senior was was IMO and ATM we don't have any "Go to players" like we had when Ali and Senior were playing,I want Sutty to get a long run of games there to see how he shapes up
I would also love to see Jack Walker given a run at FB because this guy is a different class, if we lose him them someone within the club clearly doesn't recognise talent when they see it

| In my worthless opinion, Sutty has more to his game than Centre (no disrepect to Centres) FB or ball handling loose is my pick. He obviously wants the SO position and it could be why he's holding out in further contract talks. Just hope we keep hold of him. A victim of him being a good all round player.

In fairness to Singleton his forearm was in a perfectly normal position for running in to contact and at chest height. There was no swinging arm or malicious intent, he was running the way many forwards do and using it as a bumper. A ban would be harsh imo.

| If he does get a ban then JJB just slots back in the side from his ban. Questions are will Golding and Burrow make it. Think the latter could really be useful to come on in the 2nd half against a Cas team that only played yesterday in very difficult and draining conditions.

don't think he will get banned if he does its ridiculous, i don't even no why they got a penalty for it. he does not lead or raise the elbow/forearm. my belief is it had to go on report as there was injury from head contact. so it should be no case to answer, misadventure by the tackler.

used to be much more versatile, and would come inside looking for the ball more. schofield Joe lydon mal were a great example of this. popping up as an extra half now and again. this allowed schofield to move to stand off with ease. lots more stand offs were eases into that role by playing centre and gradually moving inside more. Fittler, Daley, right back to john holmes and Bob Fulton, this is not the done thing nowadays.
think sutcliffe and moon should just alternate more.

Spot on it would seem, Singleton does not even get a mention on the RFL disciplinary page.
