| Quote ="Clearwing"A year ago the Clarke-Warrington move was seen by many as a match made in heaven. But both have struggled. Now Clarke is - allegedly - angling for a move to the next club perceived most likely to deliver success. Is he really the committed player we need in what may well turn out to be something of a mixed bag of a season, given the experience we are losing? Or will he have one eye on the exit door come next July?'"
I thought that Clarke was sold to warrington to ease Castlefords money problems, rather than him engineering a move

Haven't assumed anything, given I don't know the bloke. Just wondering about his capacity to stick with a project. It's a fair enough question.

He must have been complicit at the very least though.

Well I must have missed your post saying the same thing about Garbutt then? I mean after all, he moved again early too.

Farah is apparently going to be in The Footy Show on Thursday and will shed more light on his future etc. beau Ryan said last week in the show that Farah wanted one more year in the NRL and then move over here because he never wanted to face the Tigers so it is feasible that he could bring his plans forward a year. This article also says we are looking at Josh Mccrone From Canberra, but if we are going to sign any player from Canberra called Josh I'd rather it be hodgson!

I've very little interest in the NRL and consequently have no idea about Garbutt's background. Had I known more then yes, I might have asked a similar question. But I'd probably have been less concerned whether his signing panned out than I am the mooted Clarke one. Purely because there'll likely be a hefty fee involved and the hooking role is likely to be a key appointment. One we need to get right in other words.

| Daryl Clark would be an interesting fit for Leeds as it would give the opposition even more headaches. They already are all trying to work out a way to stop Cutherbertson and our offloading game by putting more men into the tackle so Clark could have a field day exploiting this with dummy runs. They then would have to mark him thereby giving our forwards back the chance to make the offloads once more. It could be a win win signing well worth a fee.

Even more importantly, he is as good defensively as any other hooker out there, which tightens that middle of the field.

Yep, if we could get him back to the 2014 version of Clark then it'd be a great fit to how we are currently playing.

| Clarke would be a great fuit. he knows most of our squad. Did he move across to Lancashire or is he still based in W Yorks? Get the 2014 version of clarke back and he would be a major asset

| This thing about 2014 version. I am not sure Clarke is any different, it is the team he plays for that has not given him the foundation that is all.
His defence is as good as any hooker for minutes played. He makes more average gain than any other hooker in super league. He has more tackle busts than any other hooker in super league. And he has only one less clean break than Roby for example, yet Roby plays 80 minute matches.

| I still can't see us getting a big name like Clarke or Farah. GH said we only have the cash left that was due to pay Aiton, if that was no longer good enough for Aiton then I doubt it would be for a big name ?.
Assuming GH was being honest about us replacing JP,KS and KL already (assuming it's Galloway and Garbutt) then who is Sinnys replacement ? The rumoured Brierly ? Sutcliffe stepping up ?.

| By what B.Mac said in his interview I got the impression Garbutt/Galloway replaced Peacock/Leuluai and Sutcliffe steps up to replace Sinfield. What this doesnt explain is that the 3 leavers salaries combined would be far more than the incumbents.

I wouldn't be so sure of that statement.
I would say Garbutt and Galloway combined would be on far more than Peacock and Leuluai combined. Of course, I still think we were already plenty under the cap anyway, and Hetherington makes no mention about the losing of BJB, Bailey, and Kirke either with regards salary cap.

Not a chance in hell. They've signed Isaac Luke for next season. Although if Luke to NZ falls through I'll gladly take him instead.

No, Warrington were looking to get out of move early part of season, due to finances. That was when Leeds spoke to the player. His form however soon changed Warringtons minds.
