This is actually my point, given the duration we lose players for when it comes to knee injuries, are we definitely getting expert opinion? I get that what was once a career ending injury isn’t anymore, but we do seem the have “bad luck” with knee injury recoveries.

Real shame if true, however that’s a fair call if his heart isn’t in it RL isn’t really a sport you can play half hearted and I don’t mean that as a criticism at all.

Well it's his decision. Although if he sticks to it I hope in 10 or 15 years he doesn't start to regret and think about what might have been.

Not sure he can compare what Burrow has to falling out of love with the game.
Rob didn't get his illness from playing rugby and you could argue that if he hadn't of played rugby he would not have received the support he is getting now.
Maybe he just needs time away for a period of time and he can reflect where his life takes him.
Credit it to him he will make his own decision.

Agreed and again we have to remember how young these kids are, these are difficult decisions that can affect their future, Rugby League isn’t like football where if you get a professional contract with a top club you could be set for life monetary wise even if you don’t play for that long

Several different sports entail heavy impact to the head - Football ball-heading (which is now being discouraged), RU & RL high tackles - and this is exacerbated by the small stature of the receiver, as in scrum-halves.
Indeed Rob Burrow was the smallest player in Superleague and has taken very many high tackles during his career. His personal toughness and strength has allowed him to continue in matches where an average player would be off the field.
It is a massive tribute that his resilience has proved a massive factor in Leeds Rhinos' achievements down the "Golden Generation" years. Bravest of the brave indeed! I doubt that level could be matched by Johnson or anyone else for that matter.

Not a clue mate. I've heard it from his side (not him) rather than the club. But I know he's had injuries and feels like his body isn't his own. I've been watching out for an announcement from the club and the delay makes me think they might give him time away to make his mind up. His hand isn't right so he wouldn't be playing anyway so maybe that gives all parties time to step back and think about it. Would be a real shame but he won't be the first or last. We're learning and hearing more about the effects of professional sport and it's a big commitment to make to persue it

Cant blame the lad for thinking about his long term health, he must feel strongly about it because he'l be well aware of the money he could potentially make with the the talent he has, good luck to him whatever he decides to do going forward. Gutted from a selfish point of view, thought he was nailed on to be our 9 for years to come and an international player .
