| Much improved especially from the pack.
We looked much more threatening with Dwyer at 9 & i thought Petaru ran strong.
Hands up Ferres was much improved aswell however collectively we made too many errors with the ball with Walker & Tui just off with their handling.
Watkins looked way off the pace though & imo its going to take him 9/10 games minimum to get sharp.
Finally Thaler was woeful throughout absolutely garbage.

Lolohea looks like he's been pulled from a burger kitchen rather than the NRL.
Bit baffled as a neutral hearing sky "experts" say Leeds did OK. I thought you were awful and Wigan not much better.
Are you sure you appointed a new coach? Structures look awful in attack and defence.'"
How did you guys look this time last year? Very similar to is and in a very similar position with new coach and players, I woild have thought a wite fan would appreciate that the first few games don’t really mean that much in the course of a season

Ignore that doylem they've been throwing money at it for years & only to lose both finals last year.
We are at the 1st stage of an 18mth/2yr re-build with our biggest turn over of players since the early 2000's & not just mercenaries like y churned out genuine top class players that built a legacy.
We wont be top 5 imo but we'll be much better than last year & then go again in 2020.

| So this is the real transition then. To be fair not many will get wins at wire, Wigan and Saints. Long season and to be honest i would still take a mid table finish and signs of moving forward. Long way to go

| Myler needs to go end of this season. Don't rate him at all. Unconvinced with Lolohea. Looks tubby. Fat Jordan Tansey springs to mind. Don't want to write him off yet like but he's got a lot of improvement to do.. and the less said about Merrin the better.
Watkins looks so unfit it's unreal. Be a long time until he's back to anything like.

Ferres is a good player but we’ve never really seen him fit for long. He looks in much better shape this year.
Watkins was better this week than last, but still looks to be building his confidence back up again. We’ll have to see if he’s lost any pace after the injury.
Tui looked better this week than last, partly because the pack wasn’t getting mullered. But he still looks rusty which is understandable. Bit disappointed with his pace I have to say, I thought it was try time from his first break.

| For me it looked like a team that’s building, however slowly that may be that’s all that can be expected given the recruitment that’s still needed, new players and coach and the season they had last year. I would though like to see Merrin play in the back row and for the criticism of Lolohea I think he’ll come good he does have a step and a good pass on him. Walker made many quality contributions as well as his obvious mistakes, the lads 19, that needs to be accounted for.

Still don’t like Merrin at prop. What’s the point in playing your highest paid player in spells of 15-20 mins in a position which isn’t his best?
Next week I’d like to see Sutcliffe rested and Cam Smith given a chance.

That shows you we've got no quality props. Merrin is best at second row. Thought Peteru was decent ish.

Tui is a very talented player; I think he needs to get match fit and get into a groove, but in the better weather I’d expect him to win us some games actually.

| Much improved from last week, had 4/5 bad calls, all went for Wigan but cannot really blame the ref, he plays to what he sees, even the linesman get it wrong. Further will be happy with the effort, simply put apart from the bad decisions we made too many poor choices on the last two tackles and we made far too many mistakes. The pack was much better than last week with Dwyer making a improvement on Parcell, he got us moving forward, Walker needs to go on duel reg with Feverstone he's unfit and rusty from not playing enough games, he must accept some responsibility for his shocking defence, and lack of pace, And for all you guys shouting from the rooftops about Jack Walker, he is never a quality full back, I played professional RL and he can neither tackle, catch a ball, (maybe it was too cold) and his positioning in defence he has no idea. He needs to learn his trade and quickly. If Fev are going to be our reserve side I can see a few of them being sent to simply gain much needed game time and fitness.
By the way who is our conditioner, most seem match fit yet a few do not, maybe they are all joining Ablett in McDonalds at Elland road after the game to bulk up on carbs.
However a decent performance, we are getting better and hopefully next week at Salford will see our first points of the season

Crosby still to come in might help but yes.
To be honest the pack was OK tonight, if not up to Saints/Wire standards. It was our execution of skill that mostly let us down.
I liked seeing Walker and Tui starting to push through and Ferres / Merrin offloading.

| If we had finished our sets the way Wigan did, with Williams excellent kicking game, we may have done enough to win. We can't keep a team under pressure atm. Thought we looked more dangerous on attack and that was a big step forward from last week and the pre season friendly against Cas.

| The pack played well tonight going forward and in defence, look at the number of times Wigan was on the last tackle and they were only just in our half, the mistakes was out wide in defence and Watkins and Walker were the biggest culprits. However we have played 2 out of the best three teams in Super League for the first two games, both away from home and we are starting to get there and starting to look good at times. If we can get everyone up to full match fitness and injury free then it will be a different team, and if we can give games to the players who miss out on selection at Feverstone then I have no issues in using the Championship as our reserve team

| A promising performance from the forwards especially Dwyer and Peteru. The backs let the side down with the exception of Hurrell and Walker had a real shocker. He is regularly out of position and made far too many errors and missed tackles. Our new stand off has a worrying lack of pace and Watkins looks slow and rusty.
I would like to see Callum McLelland given a run in place of either Myler or Lolohea as we need some better direction on last plays. I hope Golding gets over his ankle injury soon because we need him.

| I can see us being a better side at the end of the season than we look now, which is the better way round than last year.
I’m already starting to wonder whether we give McClelland a run instead of Myler. I’d have Smith in for Sutcliffe to have a look too.
Good to see Dwyer given a chance, he looked OK and it keeps Parcell on his toes.

Perhaps Merrin is being played at prop because he is now too slow for the backrow

I've yet to ever see a pass to Farrell that was backward. All his career they've either been flat or forward.

He might go a bit quicker if he lost a stone...
He diesn’t have marquee impact or marquee minutes at prop for me, and when he got number 11 I was hopeful they’d try to slim him back down a bit and get him to play.
Maybe when Crosby is fit, we lose Donaldson and go with a back row of Merrin, Ferres, Ward with Smith on the bench. Crosby, Peteru, Cuthbo, Oledzki looks OK for prop.
You’re right though, this Leeds side looks slow compared to some sides. I don’t know who we have who could go the full length any more - maybe Briscoe if he got free but nobody really has scary pace.
