Well said.
An excellent 2 points today.Hull kr will do well this year, especially at home and to come away with a win after looking dead and buried after nearly an hour is a huge result.not saying there isnt a lot to work on but we should all be happy and it again highlights that this side still has it regards desire and quality to mix it despite the neysayers.

For the third time Printer, I said the right hand side (the unit) were excellent. I didn't say individually, although Watkins was excellent. Nor did I critisize the left players individually, again I mentioned them as a unit.
Just because radio summarisers don't mention units, doesn't mean it isn't relevant.

| Watkins tears it up at Hull KR seemingly every season. Satisfying final result. After out first half mini collapse and then conceding the interception at the start of the second, I was pleased that the team stuck to their guns. Apart from the interception, keeping them scoreless in the 2nd half was good stuff.
And I like the new stand, but it needs some signs pointing fans towards the toilets.

| How did Burrow get on today?
I was hoping Sutcliffe got into the 17 pushing Sinfield to hooker when Aiton left the field.
Still not convinced we look good with the likes of Sinfield, McGuire and Burrow on the field together but prepared to hear the views of those that were at the game.

| Burrows for me had a good little cameo. proved hard to tackle when you started to get a role on in the 2nd half. I was glad when he went off.
Leuluai wasn't great but what an effort when he chased across to force Sio inside after he looked odds on to score on a free play.

| I won't raise issue with Printer, but I see the stats are in now and back up exactly what I said from viewing the match. So I will leave at that, and hope he has the decency to perhaps maybe accept he might have been wrong to dispute my initial post purely on radio listening.
Just to clarify, the right hand side, Ward (top tackler with 39 and two misses, and ten carries at average of 11.4 per carry) Watkins (13 tackles and no misses, and 12 carries at average 8.92 per carry ) Briscoe (9 tackles and no misses, and 10 carries at average 10.80 per carry). The left hand side made 47 tackles between them and missed 10 between them.

| After yesterday I must say I am worried about the defensive side of our game. Particularly in the first half as Hull KR looked like getting through us on every attack they had. They were targeting our left hand side yesterday and we looked like we didn't know how to deal with it. Plenty of work for the management team to do in training this week. We had to tighten up in the 2nd half of course and thankfully we did luckily KR ran out of steam for the last 20 minutes. I thought Albert Kelly for them had a good game very creative KR have got themselves a decent player there in my opinion.
However credit to the lads in the 2nd half for not giving the game up and the way we fought back to win the match. I honestly didn't see us winning at half time and I am sure I wasn't alone on that opinion. We were good on the ball at times scoring 40pts on the opening game is encouraging. I do feel though we have got to hold the ball more though in attack when we are under pressure from the opposition as we were trying some very risky offloads at times yesterday.
In the end a good win to say where we were at half time and how poor we looked at the back. Plenty of defensive training needed we have got to quickly sort that out. Onto the next one now Widnes on Friday. RHINOS!!!!!!!!

Maybe so, but I thought we were much more effective with Aiton on the field.

Stats don't tell you everything but the two things that jump out there are Cuthbertson sharing JP's workload in hit-ups and tackles, and Kylie's alarming missed tackle ratio.

| I'm guessing Achurch either didn't get many minutes or spent most of them hiding. 8 tackles and 4 carries? Positively Kirkesque.

| I'm a bit confused as to what some people here expect of individual players / the team as a whole when it comes to stats. If some players have the ball a ridiculous amount of times or make dozens and dozens tackles, then the natural contrast to this will be that others in the team will have had the ball a lot less often or made fewer tackles.
It seems to some degree that there is a feeling that ALL (or at least 'several') players should be achieving top metres / tackles / PTBs each game and that if their stats are not at the same levels as the 'top player(s)' in each category then their performance is derided.
For the 'less statistically significant' players to have got better stats, surely it would mean those with the 'best' stats would have to have a reduction in theirs?
Part of the reason the players with the best stats (with the ball) have the best stats is probably because they physically have the ball more than those with worse stats. Give the ball to those with the 'worst' stats more and you'd see their stats improve and the 'top performers' stats would decrease.
As I say, it seems fairly natural that some people will have better stats than others - there is only one ball played so to some degree how 'well' a player does is dependent on how often they have the ball (if attacking) or how often they are close to where the ball is being played when in defence.
RL is a game of two teams and the other team will also get the ball, so I don't see how it is possible for all players to have similar stats to each other during the course of a game.

Yep. you got it. I think they signed him as a long term replacement for Kirky. (Just like Kirk) the management team will season after season give him chances in the delusion that he could possibly be the next JP. Will never happen. Achurch should have gone along with Kirk.
If this upsets anyone, just think about the progress Achurch has made since he's been with us.

TBF Achurch was one of only a few to appear in all the pre-season games and he didn't exactly make a great claim for a shirt. I'd say he was lucky to get in ahead of Walters who is close to overtaking him in the queue IMO.

And the the real sad thing is Achurch will be one of our highest earners - When he left the Panthers, they were keen on keeping him, but in Phil Goulds words, Leeds made him a 'mega money' offer!!!
