In fairness, we Europeans managed to raze half the planet in a couple of wars which had very little to do with religion in the last century....

To be honest, I think religion is less often cause and more often excuse than it's given credit for. Take the whole Christian West versus Muslim East situation, which is a cultural dispute which has been going on for far longer than either of those religions has existed. Unless you're a creationist, in which case you don't believe the Greek-Persian wars would have been possible, on account of all the dinosaurs being in the way.

I believe they all died out following the flood. I don't know how long ago that was, the Bible does not explicitly say. Many YECs follow Ussher's calculations but I don't think that there is conclusive evidence for a 6000-10,000 year old Earth.

Even without the dinasours how on earth did the unique creatues of New Zealand, Madagascar, Australia etc get back 'home' once the ark was once more grounded ? Why did ALL the penguins only waddle back to the South pole and polar bears back to the north pole ?

Its really simple, a god played with them all like a child does with a chess set - put these white furry ones up here, put these birds down there, hang on, lets pull their wings off for a laugh first, all these crappy ones that I made out of odds and sods that were left over, put them all on this island down there that no-one will ever find...

Life is so much simpler once you accept that there is a god up in the clouds playing you like a puppet, its like starring in your very own Gerry Anderson series and you have no control over what he's going to do to you next, all you can do is sing some songs to him once a week and make sure you don't peek your eyes open when his representative is proclaiming how great he is.

If I was a god I'd make sure that my reps shouted out loud and clear how great I art and I'd make all my clients sing songs about me every Sunday too.
