My beloved Salford? Carry on telling others to grow up, it's what you appear to do best.

According to the RFL investigation into the initial skirmish with Yeaman, Tomkins was pushed twice and had a punch aimed at him before he retaliated. Some would argue he showed remarkable restraint in that instance.
No matter how often you refer to it as an elbow won't alter the fact the the Disciplinary panel quite rightly decided there was no elbow involved. Carry on though with the reference if you think basing your case on a poor decision by the match officials supports your position.
Quote ="Juan Cornetto"2. Topped the SL penalty count last season. '"
I asked for evidence of your claim that Tomkins had 'earned a reputation for violence.' Without you can break down those overall figures they prove nothing unless in your view all penalties are as a result of violence? The vast majority of penalties it appears from my analysis of the modern game result from technical infringements. For example Leeds on Saturday conceded six penalties and only one of those was as a result of what you'd call foul play (high tackle by Peacock) while the other five were from technical problems.
Quote ="Juan Cornetto"3. Before the 4 Nations he was told to clean up his act and the former GB coach said "This lad has a tendency to give penalties away like I sup tea"'"

Eh? Not according to this that appears to show Tomkins J received no yellow cards during the SL regular rounds: www.engagesuperleague.co.uk/stat ... eason=2009
You should have used 2010 where he was equal top with two.
In any case, how many (or what percentage) yellow cards are issued as a result of violent play? Without a breakdown of the offences that led to those sin-binnings (not forgetting sin-bins are more usually given for persistent technicle offences or dissent rather than violent misconduct.) A point someone should explain to Jonathan Davies by the way.
Quote ="Juan Cornetto"I can also remember a couple of other games where he should have been sent off with one of them for kicking a player. Most observers would agree the both the Tomkins brothers have a nasty side to their game.'"
The kick out at McGuire (is that the one) was petulent rather than violent and while a poor decision on his part hardly deserving of a send-off. Why presume to speak for anyone other than yourself. You think they have a nasty side to their game, fair enough. You're entitled to that opinion but as they are professional rugby league players (rather than seeking to enter a monastery) I don't see it altogether as a negative. Billy Slater can be a nasty little fooker but it doesn't prevent him being one of the best players on the planet.
Quote ="Juan Cornetto"No. I am saying the ref and panel decided that Tomkins forearm was clearly going to finish up in the opponents face intentionally While the ref and the panel felt Cross's error was not intentional. '"
The ref/touch judge decided it was an elbow. It wasn't.
Quote ="Juan Cornetto"Tomkins Case:

This view was backed by the referee who felt that the incident warranted a dismissal. Therefore the committee feel that a 2 match suspension is to be imposed but no fine in this case.'[/i. '"
And that differed from Ben Cross on Daryl Clark in which way?
If you thought Tomkins deserved a Red card and subsequent ban (I didn't), I'm at a loss to see why you seek to defend Cross, Silverwood and the disciplinary panel in not beinmg consistent dealing with the Leeds player committing very similar offence.

I'll take your word for it and won't make any suggestions that it was Freudian. However, and please don't get all excited that this is directed at you, but I have well stated theories about when people have a problem with Bailey playing the hard man yet love player's like Peacock, Morley and Barrie Mac to take that role.
I won't go any further into those theories as the last time I aired them it led to the disappearance of a fun poster from Wigan who protested a little too much.

If the cap fits. Attempting to make out that a typo was a racial remark is at the very least childish IMO. Are you saying its ok in your book?
We obviously have quite different views of Joel Tomkins. I see a good player who has a nasty side. Even his brother Sam says he likes a fight. It will be interesting to hear other peoples opinions rather than just your and mine.

| I think Joel Tompkins is a dirty b*gger but I'd have him in the Leeds side in the blink of an eye.
Likewise James Graham or Roby.
The beauty of the salary cap is that such talent has to be spread around or even go to Australia.

I don't have to justify myself to you. You should think very carefully before making serious accusations based on nothing more than a typo. I don't defend deliberate foul play nor will I have anything to do with opinions that are racist.
You chose to make a cheap and insulting comment on what is an argument about rugby matters.
I note that you haven't apologised but make matters worse. If you didn't want to make "any suggestions that it was Freudian" then why mention it?

I am not interested in your odd views or your bullying style. If I applied your simplistic logic to your "agenda" regarding Buderus you could say you were being racist against Australians. See how stupid it is!

Ha ha. Two typos in your self righteous outburst.
What were you saying about typos....ah yes.... "exercised some judgment and checked before using your typing. If I am childish you were reckless, thoughtless and a little bit ignorant" Well aagin if the cap fits!
The word I mis-typed isn't even a word and in the context of my sentence could in no way be conceived as a racist slur as I was talking also about Cross. Unless of course the reader had an agenda.
