Friday was outstanding from the pre match burrow stuff to the performance on the field, so ill enjoy that and not get dragged down in here.
Hopefully we can continue the good form on Thursday.'"
Don't blame you mate. There's a good deal of name calling and nastiness creeping in. It's bang out of order and would be more suited to twitter. You will be missed. Enjoy the game on Thursday.

| The bile written on here 48 hours (or more, God help us) after a loss or poor performance has only become worse over the years. The tendency for people to resort to petty insults if someone disagrees with them has always been here, but sadly there are fewer sensible people posting to balance all the knee-jerkery.
I get that things have been pretty disappointing since 2015 (despite the GF and CC wins, and the GF run last season), and it has become massively frustrating being a Leeds fan in this period.
A lot of the posters on here badly need to learn patience.
The mess we were in after Brian Mac is behind us, and we've moved on from the dark days of Lowes and Sinfield being in charge.
Richard Agar helped steady the team but he obviously hung around a season too long. While Rohan Smith has performed some pretty major surgery to the squad he inherited from Agar, the spine and the big earners are all Agar selections - Myler, Sezer, Austin, Tetevano, Fusitua, Bentley - plus Leeming whose place in the squad hasn't yet been filled to my knowledge.
For me, Rohan Smith has credit in the bank for the GF run and a run of wins against Saints, Wigan, and Catalans this season. Most importantly, (IMO) he's also put faith in a lot of younger players and we've seen the likes of Holroyd, Gannon, O'Connor and Cameron Smith (etc) really improve under his coaching, which is the kind of development we were definitely *not* seeing under Agar and McDermott.
For some reason the match day 17 don't always seem to be 'up for it' against teams that Leeds would be traditionally expected to beat handsomely, leading to some woeful showings recently. I think this has as much to do with the mentality of the players as anything else. Austin clearly wants to give his all for the team, but there are a lot of other big earners coming out of contract at the end of the season. Clearly having a clutch of senior players back from injury showed against Huddersfield too.

| After reading the last few pages I’m a bit concerned, this is a forum for all fans of leeds and y’know what I’m sad to see that a valued contributor in Chris feels that he has to take a hiatus. I have tried to let things “flow” and only in very rare circumstances felt the need to step in, this is one of those times.
From this point on, I want anyone who feels that things have overstepped to DM the mods directly, report button is also there for a reason. I will not tolerate this board to slide into the horrid cesspit that is the Leeds bookface page.
Everyone has a right to an opinion, you don’t have the right to use personal abuse to score points and this will be cracked down upon from now on.
Consider this a wake up call with regard to conduct.

Largely in part because very little of the engagement is with those posts, therefore there is more disinclination to post them in the first place. A bit of chicken and egg, granted.

| Back to winning ways again ..Not sure if we were actually really good or if Hudds made it look that way, anyroad , 2 points gratefully received,.Flashes of brilliance from Austin and a really good game for Myler. As one poster has mentioned , Hill lucky not to be binned for a late hit on Myler,
Big improvement with discipline and very few errors.

Which is a shame as a negative outlook has engulfed the site.
You can see that from the amount of posts since final whistle on Friday, no where near as many as there would have been if we lost.

| There’s some top notch Coaches, CEO’s, rugby directors on here, who have all the answers.
One rule for online posting I use is to only say something you would be prepared to say face to face. Imagine some posters telling a player what they’ve been saying about them on here!!!

| I think it`s a fair assumption there will always be a difference of opinion some good some bad.
Deep down we all want the best for our club and sometimes frustration creeps in and words are said in haste.
Those that stick by the club through thick and thin such as Chris are to be admired.
I for one am guilty of blaming Smith usually for poor team selections and sticking with players who clearly in my opinion do not deserve to be playing.
However I would never personally insult anyone who has a different opinion to me.
Insults should never be tolerated and those committing that offence should be suspended for a period of time increased by severity or regularity.
Roll on Thursday.

Insults been going on (and tolerated on here for a long while) not sure why the outrage now?
Nothing ban able been said about Christopher (to my knowledge), but agree a shame he’s bowing out. Can’t imagine him missing it much though tbf!

| Yeah I’ve noticed a few posts from one or two on here that are out of order and are close to being personal and stepping over the line. Well said Mods. Chris is a terrific contributor on here and has been for years.
Anyways onwards to Thursday. Move on.

| A much better performance where we seemed to do the basics a lot better, albeit Hudds were dire and clearly not playing for the coach.
I feel this was our first 80 minute performance of the season. When we are playing well, we look like a match for any side, however, we have been extremely inconsistent so far. It would be nice to go on a winning streak now and improve our confidence.
Like others have said, Myler at full back and Handley at wing should be the only way. Fusitua and Austin were very good. I would extend Austin's contract by a year. Lisone and McDonnell also very good.
Walters was very good. I'm praying he ends up signing and the rumours are wrong i.e. Walker and Sutcliffe when they were meant to be leaving.
Johnson's progress has been extremely slow, however, I think the regular game time is helping, and he is seeing very gradual improvement. I think he might be taking over O'Connor soon whose passing for mine is not good enough.

| Leeming I did not care about whatsoever. Walters I am disappointed about.
Although Walter's still has a lot of improvement and is not the full package yet, he has bags of potential. He looked a real threat every time he had the ball on Friday.

| Good team performance all round. Austin was on a different planet to anyone else on the field. Huddersfield were dire but you can only beat what is put in front of you. It begs the question - how did they lose to Wakefield?

We are terrible at times away from home. We were very good for long periods on Friday. One big factor was wakey played with some real effort and Hudds looked like a fair few were going through the motions, some of their defence was very poor.
We need to keep at it v Wire and match or better their enthusiasm as a start point

| Find it staggering to think Hill didn`t receive at least a caution for either the late hit or for constantly challenging the refs decison Friday.
Following the latest round of Betfred Super League matches, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions:
Jonny Lomax (St Helens) - Grade A Strikes - No Further Action
Jordan Lane (Hull FC) - Grade A Strikes - No Further Action
James Harrison (Warrington Wolves) - Grade D Dangerous Contact - 2 Match Penalty Notice and £250 Fine
Fouad Yaha (Hull KR) - Grade B High Tackle - £250 Fine
Yusuf Aydin (Hull KR) - Grade B Dangerous Contact - £250 Fine
David Fifita (Wakefield Trinity) - Grade A Disputes Decision - No Further Action
Will Dagger (Wakefield Trinity) - Grade B Dangerous Contact - £250 Fine
Romain Navarette (Catalans Dragons) - Grade B Dangerous Contact - £250 Fine
Ed Chamberlain (Leigh Leopards) - Grade A Dangerous Throw - No Further Action
The following players have received a caution:
Romain Navarette (Catalans Dragons) - Raising Knee in Tackle
Tim Lafai (Salford Red Devils) - Raising Knee in Tackle

I would agree with all the above - you have to question if Watson's natural negativity has impacted the squad. They look like they can't be bothered.

| I'm not sure if any of you noticed it on TV (would be harder to see live, at the game) but there were several of the tries on Friday where the Hudds players were either in position to try to make a tackle on the person running through near the line, or who motioned to look as though they were, but their tackles were akin to the motion a 90 year old woman would make, trying to grab a misbehaving teenager.
I noticed it from Price in particular a couple of times. Though I obviously support Leeds, after noticing it once, I was then spotting it numerous times through the match. I found it frustrating when none of the Sky panel in the game dared acknowledge Watson pulled the 3 after 25 mins as they were coasting - Barrie Mc's rubbish about 'he must be trying to now play a different system, just in the same way as before' felt like a similar lack of effort to say what was happening.
I know Watson has been derided for how angry he was in his interview - and in some ways it was churlish - though I can also get his irritation with what his players did - especially the likes of Price and a few others at the back.
Leeds obviously won handsomely on the scoreboard, though to me it felt the played competently (ie. not dropping the ball loads, as they have recently) and they tried. Half the Hudds team were just coasting. To me it just underlined a bit that effort is important in a team game - better in some ways having an average player who always gives 100% than a very good one whose effort levels will vary depending how they feel on the night.

| Think you are right Jamie, Price did one good stop on Fusitua grounding the ball but a lot of his defence was really poor as was many others. The try Myler scored when Austin broke about 5 tackles was something you don’t see anymore.
Hill was still trying but he is now on the decline.
There was barely any intensity from them as a team all night.

There’s probably a few of us on here, who think we’d be a better team with 17 Donaldson’s than we currently are!
