I enjoyed it too. I don't know who does the scouting for Cas but they've done well spotting Solomona & McMeekin, Danny Orr maybe when he was down at the Broncos.
Cas show that you don't necessarily need the best players but good coaching pays dividends.
Not taking anything away from McDermott but I do wonder what Powell could now do with our players.
Interestingly he has two assistants in Orr & Sheridan, both decent half backs if not truly international class.

Anyone who saw the Broncos could have told you McMeekan was going to be a quality player. You don't have to be a scout, I mentioned it on here a few times...

JJB is in the 19 man squad in place of Hallas from last week. Still doubtful if he'll make the the 17 though.

Faloon has been a cracking signing so far. Taking his time coming back from a broken toe, they don't usually take this long to recover from, maybe worse injury than we have been told.

I think we did enough in attack against Catalan to win the game. A similar performance with better application on defence should see us past Hudders. Their injury list is about as long as ours, the main difference is that a lot of the young players they are calling on don't have the experience of the likes of Sutty, Handley, Keinhorst or even Walters.

The piece on the club website about the 17 man squad for Friday lists the players currently out injured or suspended.

Only one it doesn't mention is Falloon. If you're a fan of conspiracy theories, have at it.

Think we'll get off the mark this week. Whilst disappointing at the time the defence vs Catalans, it is worth remembering it was only 6 days after a massive effort in the WCC. To go away to France after that game we probably should've expected a less than stellar showing defensively.

Before the season I was quietly optimistic about faloon having seen him previously. The thought of going the rest of the season with burrow at hooker fills me with dread

I broke my toe on New Years Day. Whilst I can now just about
walk normally on it again - running on it is still a no go
for me. They can be awkward to heal properly so I wouldn't
be overly surprised at the time taken so far on

I broke mine a few times. Never taken this long. Ran a marathon 3 weeks after breaking it the second time.

Seeing as this has turned into a "share your broken toe story" thread, I can report that when I broke my big toe it was a bugger to heal and there was floating bone in there I could feel months later, with my second toe it was ok in few weeks, strapped and padded. Don't know which one Falloon broke.

Agree! All my previous posts about us still having as good a chance as any of winning silverware this season (depending on the exact draws) I will have to detract on this basis. As you say Beau Faloon is becoming much more like a burst baloon of a signing.....very mysterious.

If Brough plays, the Leeds back three needs to be on a string from tackle four onwards. Whichever side of the field Brough goes, Hardaker needs to be keeping an eye on that touchline for the 40-20 and allowing the winger on that side to to stay up in the line. The opposite winger then drops a bit deeper and tucks in to cover the kick down the middle. If we're going to pressure the kick, then we can't go in ones otherwise he'll just use his footwork to get out of trouble and then look to run the ball.
