Dunno. He always seems a bit of a whinger and he wouldn't be leaving Newcastle if all was well. Then again we would never get s current NRL coach who was going great guns.

Even some of the NRL pundits were saying that many of the options to fill Brown's boots were coaches who didn't have a great record, and that maybe they should look at an up and coming assistant like Jason Ryles at Melbourne.

I don't know what Tony Smith had done coaching-wise in Aus before he came to Huddersfield, but he transformed them and Leeds at the time.

If we have a good management team around them and KS as DoR, maybe an assistant NRL coach would be sensible. It's just the risk factor having got fingers burned with Furner.

Again, this is why I suspect they will retain Agar - the coach has to be able to work alongside KS who clearly has strong opinions about how things should be done.

One of the Directors told me only 3 months ago, fingers crossed they haven’t changed their minds. Agar only to the end of this season, no longer, it is not his job going forward.

Thanks Gotcha, some on here have no sense of Humour, the part regarding Agar is/ was 100% correct, the director did say end of the season no longer and it was backed up by one of GH family. Next coach, I’ve no idea, like everyone else on here it’s a wait and see game.

Whatever we do or don't do with the coaching, the club has been very internally focused over the past months in the effort to stay up. That's understandable: but I do think the fans need to be communicated with about the vision going forward, because my word aside from the unexpected glory of 2017, it's been a rough four years now.

Its not understandable for me. You should always be looking at the medium and long term, and not just the short. Right now, even staying up, we are prolonging been in a difficult position, because we haven't done anything proactively about the medium and long term. The head coach position was a significant part of that. Agar long term will not be the answer, but if the management really feel it is, then why the hell didn't they sort it months ago? that is such short term planning, and limits the amount of faith anyone can have in the decision making.
