Sounds a bit strange to me

Donovan McNabb isn't fit enough to run the Redskins offense so the Skins workout JaMarcus Russel!

I read this earlier, ironic much!!!

Wacky as Shanahan's explanation may be, it got me thinking.

How many times can you remember McNabb running a two-minute drill to snatch a close game out of the fire for his team?

Could part of the reason he doesn't have the same reputation for doing this as say Manning, Brady. Elway, Montana etc be because he does struggle for fitness at the end of the game which impacts on his ability to make plays?

On the NFL website someone has claimed that ESPN showed a stat that had McNabb at 11 of 43 going into the 4th quarter trailing.

Then when trailing going into the two minute drill he has a passer rating of around 45.0 with no TD's.

Not sure how accurate this is, however, when you take this into consideration Shanahan's explanation is less baffling...until you consider his replacement was Rex Grossman!

And they are working out JP Losman and JaCartass Russell!
