Luke Walsh is a right liability for them in defence. Made 6 tackles but missed 6 tackles too. The other week when they lost to Cas he made 6 but missed 5. Just target that guy in defence.
Our old mate Jon Wilkin hasn't had a good time against us this year either. Missed 6 tackles at Langtree, missed 7 last night.

Watch it back Tad, he's dropped Burns on the side of his head. Yes there's no intent and he hasn't turned him through 180 degrees and delivered a piledriver, but he's still got it wrong. It's not as bad as some, and IMO the RFL have been pretty consistent with "spear" tackles this season. Along with the crusher tackle it's something they're being pretty hot on.

And rightly so IMO. Now if we could get them to take deliberate attempts to injure players as seriously, for instance with a death roll, that would be progress.

His defence is appalling. Phil Clarke makes a good point on the sky coverage, if an English junior defended the way Walsh did last night he'd be dropped.

Me too but this is Zak and he's got previous, so expect him to watch the Wigan game from the stands.

He hasn't got previous for any non-verbal infringement. He's clean as a whistle for that. But couldn't really complain if he gets a ban for this, it was dangerous.

| Quote ="nantwichexile"I mentioned this elsewhere that it was noticeable how effective Watkins was running it from FB where he has more time to pick his spot to attack ...at full pace.
It's a pity we cannot find a way to combine Hardaker's undoubted superlative defensive qualities with Watkins' attacking abilities at FB. Overall Hardaker still makes the best FB (IMO) but Watkins could indeed be the nearest thing to an English Ingliss.....(Maybe swap their positions sometimes on attack !!)'"
I'd have put Watkins at fullback already to be honest. The defensive side of it can be learned IMO, but his athleticism and raw potential is something that very few players have. He's your most dangerous attacking player, he's young and he's skillful, and he'd get loads more ball at fullback.

You might be right about learning the defensive side....but Hardaker excels at FB (IMO) because of his sublime one on one tackling - whether that is holding up forwards owing to his strength or the chopping down of the speedsters trying to unsuccesfully skin him on the outside owing to his speed and timing of the tackle.
Hardaker is also tremendously safe under the high ball and can always be relied on to return the ball with gusto and not be pushed back.
Watkins would make a better attacking FB in many ways (he does look to pass more than Hardaker does), but I doubt he would come anywhere near our incumbent FB in the defensive role. Indeed on the few occassions Watkins has started at FB I seem to remember him being (perhaps surprisingly) 'walked over' a few times.

| Tad, I have to say I usually like / appreciate your giff avatar things, but this latest one is weirdly disturbing. It moves too fast and puts me in mind of Max Headrooms Girlfriend. If he had one. That said it might grow on me

So you don't think he does anything wrong but wouldn't argue against him getting a ban? Are you the Leeds fan on Twitter who suggested Burns should have been carded for diving on his head to try and get Hardaker sent off?

Consistency ?
Think they yellow will help his cause against a ban. Already served a punishment as such
