| I do have a problem with the tackle...well the hit actually in so far as the timing off it 2 minutes form the end.... what was he trying to achieve ????
As I have said previously the Cas players had a certain mindset in those last 10 minutes IMHO. Its a hard full contact game so therefore no complaints really but I do believe what goes around comes around.

The head clash was clearly accidental but IMHO there was a certain intent.

| I hope he's fit for leeds in the final but being honest after looking at the pic of him, he's got no chance of playing.
Shame as it's tough on the players missing out on finals.
IMHO i don't think the was anything wrong with the tackle, he went in for the big hit and clashed heads, nothing any of them coulkd do.

Did he break his jaw? I don't remember that. I remember him knocking Mather's out with one of the best punches ever thrown on a rugby field, but I don't remember his jaw being broken.
Have I remembered wrong? It was a long time ago now, and I'm not as young as I used to be...

are you for real, jonny walker was just trying to put a hit on burgess and they clashed heads.no intent what so ever and you are quite right what goes around comes around and im sure over his career walker will be on the recieving end of a few tough tackles has do most players that play the game.
hope luke recovers in minimal time and is back playing in no time.

Some 'experts' might be able to explain the difference between these examples & Walker's hit on Burgess, but they look no different to me, and were no doubt applauded by the tacklers' team's fans at the time.
Hope the lad makes a speedy recovery.

You do understand why video links from professional broadcast media aren't allowed anywhere on RLFans don't you ?
I hope you do anyway, I'd hate for you to get the legal bill.

It was a poor attempt at a tackle which bordered on the reckless, and could have left both of them seriously injured. The clash of heads was accidental, the dancing around afterwards was not, or do you people have such thick skulls that you do not realise when there has been major head contact?
The chanting from the inbreds whilst the medical team were fitting the neck brace is about par for the course, and I doubt that we are going to miss your continued participation in SL

No compalints about the hit or the accidental clash of heads its a tough game and they are all big boys and as I have said karma will have its day.
What I do have a slight beef about is the mindset of some of the Cas players with 10 minutes to go. This was evident in the wardance afterwards whilst a fellow pro is badly injured on the floor. WELL OUT OF ORDER IN MY BOOK.

| Fair enough celebrating the hit if your 2 points down and are going to get a Final chance to win, but I didn't understand why they were that bothered considering the match was gone.

thats how i saw it. Luke won the collision and his momentum was going forward, the young cas kid was on his ass falling backwards. Had the heads not clashed as they did, Burgess would have been in open space
It was poor technique and a lack of control and i think a good coach will talk to him about that. Not from a discipline point of view but if the kids throws around shots like that more often not the young lad will come off second best

I suppose its a way of getting back at your opponents, and takes away part of the enjoyment of winning.
It wasn't a clever tackle technique and Walker was probably lucky not to get injured too. However it wasn't Illegal, and when the adrenaline is running along with frustration, there's always going to be some disregard for personal safety.
Anyway hope he gets back on the field soon.
And to the people who say it was out of order, THIS ISN'T TIDDLYWINKS, THIS IS RUGBY LEAGUE!!!

| potentially any tackle in rugby league can cause injury, we've all seen players struggling after fairly innocent tackles like the one on peacock last night
burgess was a case of 2 young players colliding and unluckily for luke he came off worst, if it had been a morley, mcdermott or peacock they might have learnt to lead with the arm and maybe lessen the chances of a head collision
one things for certain , serious or not the leeds lads will queue up to take the pi$$ out of him as soon as he returns to the ground such is the nature of the squad

I take it reading is not your strong point so I will do my best to repeat the context of my concerns.
I didnt say the hit or the accidental contact was out of order and if you can read my post you will see I conceed its indeed a big boys game.
What was not on was the wardance of delight AFTERWARDS whilst a fellow pro is lying badly injured.

How often do players celebrate when they make a big hit?? Every single time, this time was no different
Remember a few years ago when Anderson put in a big hit on Danny Tickle and screamed at him while he was on the floor, its the same thing. Adrenaline takes over and last night Walker was the same, although he quickly realised it was serious after Burgess failed to move.
Hope Luke gets well soon, just a shame an accident has caused him to miss the CC final

| Tbh he just didn't even look like he had control of the hit, his body seemed to relax just before the hit (Walker that is) which resulted in his head flying forwards. Completely accidental.
As for the celebrating afterwards, Leeds are one of the biggest sides for the jumping about and celebrating a big hit, how was the Cas lad to know how injured Burgess was? I think as soon as it became apparent the players stopped celebrating, and I don't see how you could have expected them to act differently. I doubt your team would, and thats not an insult, its just part of the game.
